YouTube Privacy Option for Lead Generation Videos

By April

In Hump Day Hangout Episode 56, one of the participants was curious about whether YouTube has a privacy option for lead generation videos. He would like to hide his tracks from its competitors when doing video optimization.  As a follow-up, he also asked if this has an impact on existing SEO campaigns.

The exact question was:

Hey Guys…1) Is there a way to go into our YT channel and make an adjustment so all our lead gen videos are not visible to competition that may be “interested” in seeing what else we have to “offer”?? I think you can do it, just not sure how.. To clarify: I just want to obviously make the viewing (ability to see them) of the videos on the channel private, not the videos themselves private in the SERPs.

2) If I do # 1 will that or can that affect the SEO of the videos since they can't be seen visually on my channel?

Managing Video Optimization Campaigns for Clients

By April

In Hump Day Hangout Episode 56, a participant asked about the best ways in dealing and in managing video optimization campaigns for clients.

The exact question was:

Bradley, could you quickly go over how you handle clients where you build them a YT channel and where you have their videos you have ranked on your channel and the different ways to price each one and things that we need to keep control over so we don't get taken advantage of all the time?

Creating Tier 1 Branded Network and Tier 1 Persona Network for the Same Money Site

By April

A question about creating a Tier 1 Branded Network and another Tier 1 Persona network on the same money site was asked during Episode 56 of Hump Day Hangout. The participant would like to know if this is a good strategy or should be something to avoid at.

The exact question was:

On a side note since I have your attention, one last question. Can you build a Tier 1 Branded IFTTT Network and a Tier 1 Persona IFTTT Network to the same money site? Would this be just as effective, but less of a headache than managing a tier 2 network to your money site? This would avoid the complications of having to add extra relevant RSS feeds to hide the money site's RSS feed in, and the risks of over-optimized keyword links, etc.

Thanks for your input guys!?

Adam: Hey, everybody. Welcome to Hump Day Hangouts episode 56. Today is hopefully going to be humorous because I’m laughing and it makes no sense to you because we just started. But it is the second of December and we got full crew here so how’s it going, everybody? Hey, Hernan. How’s it going?

Hernan: Hey, guys. Hey, everyone. It is really good to be here.

Adam: alright Marco, what’s up?

Marco: Hey, man, what’s up? What’s up, everybody?

Adam: hey, Bradley. What’s going on, man?

Bradley: hey, guys. It is December, can u believe it? Christmas is coming and it’s almost the end of the year and it’s been a crazy year so wow. And we’ve had a couple of weeks of watching – we didn’t won last week, didn’t we?

Adam: Yeah

Bradley: and it’s kind of a blur.

Adam:  and I think just correct me if I’m wrong, we haven’t slayed out the schedule set down yet but I think we are going to hit every Wednesday in December. Let me see if I’m lying here. Well, we got one on the 23rd and the 30th. We are going to have at least four episodes I think this month.

Bradley: ok cool.

Adam: yes, not going to put us on the hook for more on that, we may have more.

Bradley: might be five but we will see.

Adam: Good deal. Alright. Everyone, I just wanted to tell you real quick, if you haven’t – I’ll put the link up there. I know a lot of you – I have a…

Marco: Everybody knows we are live, man.

Adam: That is awesome. There’s a very aggravated cat who is shortly going to go outside in the rain. Alright, anyway, let’s say, let’s talk about serious base real quick and a lot of you already signed up. But something we wanted to tell people about was just that its free account sign up. And we are going to start doing a better job of explaining what exactly search bases to new people. How they can use it, and then the services offered because we have been slowly ramping it up. We kind of brought it in, in September when we first started offering the network management services. And now that we’ve got video power house and we are looking to bring the link building, the network building in there.

Pinterest in IFTTT Networks

By April

One of the participants at Episode 56 of Hump Day Hangout suggested the addition of Pinterest into the existing IFTTT Network of Semantic Mastery. Find out what the team has to say about it:

Hello! I'm new to IFTTT and only been doing this stuff for 3 weeks. I've already set up a few recipes but I don't see Pinterest in your list??

I created my own Pinterest recipe (yeah, this stuff is addictive!) but the images are not posting properly on my Pinterest board.

For example, if you look at the Pinterest account you will notice that some pins had images posted to them and some not:

https://www.pinterest.com/launchscore/launchscore-news/

For the pins that DO have an image that was posted on Pinterest, you will notice that it was NOT the featured image that was pulled from the blog post, but rather the image embedded into the post:

http://blog.launchscore.com/3d-printing-bringing-jobs-back…/

For the rest of the posts they only have a featured image, ie, only one image and no additional images embedded in the blog post itself.

Is this a clue as to what's happening? Or did I setup the IFTTT recipe incorrectly?

I wonder if I am missing something in the IFTTT setup. I have attached an image of the IFTTT receipt for Pinterest.

Any assistance from the group is appreciated!!!?

Indexing Videos Published in Vimeo

By April

During Episode 56 of Semantic Mastery's Hump Day Hangout, one participant asked about Vimeo having a so-called sandbox for each account since he wasn't able to see his videos.

The exact question was:

Is there a sandbox for new Vimeo accounts? I created an account, uploaded 2 videos and 5 days later not indexed by Google. I embedded the video on a webpage that I know was crawled by Google, did a Google plus post and a Twitter tweet with the URL of the video the same day the videos were uploaded. In the past, this method has always worked with YouTube, and all videos get indexed in a day or less.

A friend of mine did a Fiverr gig for 50 video embeds on crappy 2.0's like Blogspot, Delicious and Diggo and didn't notice any ranking change with the video. I think Google ignores these types of sites when trying to pass link juice to a website but it seems to have always worked with videos. Any change to the algo? I think there is a shift from the shear number of embeds to the quality of the site the embed is on but he was surprised to see absolutely no change?

Multiple Subdomains for Multiple Cities

By April

At Episode 56 of Hump Day Hangout, one question was about creating multiple subdomains to integrate multiple keywords that also target cities and neighborhoods.

The exact question was:

Hope everyone had a great turkey day! I also hope I'm not drifting too deep into the weeds here. So here it is: If I am creating 50+ sub-domain local niche sites, each focused in different geographic locations for rank and rent, and all of which originate from one “parent” domain, do I treat each sub-domain as a complete, separate web site apart from the “parent” domain with its own “money site” curated content (Curation Mastery) and IFTTT Network, OR,  can I use the same “money site” curated content source and IFTTT Network used for the “parent” domain, and treat the sub-domains more like pages? I'm doing local niche + city + neighborhoods. There are 55 neighborhoods in this city, and each neighborhood is a sub-domain. I'm confused about how best to approach this.

Then there is PLAN B. Scrap all the above, and just rank and rent ONE website for the ENTIRE city! Not as much profit potential, but boat loads less time consuming and hassles. Ha!

By April

In the episode 55 of Hump Day Hangout, one of the questions asked is about redirection and whether or not to use WP Overlayer in this process. This was in connection to protecting money site, which was also being discussed in the previous hangout.

The exact question was:

What is best way to redirect , and do we use a WP Overlayer or just a redirect.

Redirection: Its Effect on Ranking and Link Juice

By April

As mentioned in the previous webinar, one thing to do to protect your money site is through redirection. In connection, a participant at the episode 55 of Hump Day Hangout asked about how it could affect in terms of ranking and in passing link juice.

The exact question was:

Hi , Just found a video where you spoke about building own asset and redirecting link to clients site for protection. Will the client site move higher in rankings with our redirect or they are just benefiting from extra calls etc.

Link Sculpting: Is it Important? Is it Effective?

By April

A participant at the Episode 55th of Hump Day Hangout asked about the importance of an SEO strategy called link sculpting, which was popular few years back.

The exact question was:

How important is link sculpting these days? If it's still relevant, how do you deal with less important pages on your website. For example would you no-follow your navigation / terms / privacy links? Off page, when you are trying to pass authority from a facebook page to your website, do multiple links to other sources partially dilute the authority??
