Last week, during Episode 34 of our weekly Hump Day Hangout, we had a question from a viewer about the use of Power Suggest Pro and how we utilize it for content creation, backlinking, and more. This keyword research tool is one of our favorites (we all own a copy and use it regularly) and you'll see us using it in various webinars and case studies.
Here is the question that was asked – watch the video above for the answer:
When you guys are using the Power Suggest Pro, are you creating content from those keywords? Are you using those phrases for linking purposes?
I mean in some cases you have so many different phrases, I am not exactly sure what you are doing with the phrases. The one that you did for the case study is a good example.
There's a lot of ways to use keyword research tools and this was a good question to showcase several ways to use the lists that tools like this generate – there are a lot of uses!
I've been reading a lot about web 2.0 tools/bots and am trying to differentiate between how effective they are. For a 2.0 builder like Money Robot, how does building out your own IFTTT networks differ as far as the actual “work” getting done. When it's all said and done, isn't it basically the same thing as far as what properties are build and linking actually done.
There is actually a lot that goes in to answering this question as it can depend on your strategy and end goals. We gave our reasons behind using, or not using, account creators (like FCS Networker), and also explained theming and interlinking the web 2.0 accounts (why we do this) – something that we always do with our IFTTT Networks.
There are certainly strategies that can make use of account creators – check out the video for more information.
We had a great webinar with Justin Sardi and Zane Miller – these guys showed us a ton of great information on how to implement YouTube advertising to get clicks to your products and websites for a fraction of what you have to pay with AdWords!
We've got the webinar replay posted so that you too can check it out and learn why you should be using YouTube ads:
Additional “killer” service for clients
Cheap views and clicks (sometimes 10x less than Adwords!)
Easy to set up
Ability to make a huge ROI
Their pre-launch price for their personalized YouTube Ads Bootcamp won't last long, in fact it's only good until June 29th!
Throughout the IFTTT SEO Academy training, you keep the workbook open in chrome with your own google account. i just want to make sure there is no conflict doing this as we build our networks… and so, is it vital that I clean chrome and stay out of my own google every time i use proxies in firefox?
6:00 I noticed that Buffer now supports posting to Pinterest. I am setting up an IFTTT recipe to post from Flickr to Buffer, and then hoping Buffer will post to Pinterest. The missing part is where you choose which BOARD to post to.
I’m doing a lot of manual link building from PBN’s and I really need something that I can set up and forget but trust to do a good job.
9:00 I have a site that I created before I knew anything about silos or structuring a website properly. I have tried to do a modified silo by having 4 pages that link to the home page and posts related to each page topic/category linking to the page and the home page, but know that was done somewhat inconsistently. Here's a great guide from our friends at Authority Hacker about Silos: https://www.authorityhacker.com/site-architecture/
20:00 I want to make a single video into multiple videos that appear unique using the standard YT video upload. I don’t know how to do it using YT Hang outs and live events. At this time, I’m more interested in getting test videos on YT/Google. Will varying the length +/- a few seconds, or using different background music, etc. work. Can I use the standard YT upload or does it only work with using YT live and hangouts? Are there other things that I can do?
32:00 7. I know the training says create personas, but I wondering about making simply branded networks around different niches… Is there a reason other than the work that would cause you to discourage this?
– Have you tried posting with taxonomies of Post-1, Page-1, Bonus-1 , Post-2, Page-2, Bonus-2 and so on which all link to each other? In theory, to take advantage of visitor curiosity to try to out Post-3, Page-3, Bonus-3 searches if they saw the first 2, to dive deeper and soak up all the content.
Especially when the site is not one that shows the site posts readily in navigations, the numeric system could help them then.

IFTTT Recipes Issues
51:00 Can someone please remind me where Bradley Benner updated our understanding of proper triggers / actions across tiers to prevent multiple syndications (over and over and over…)?
1:00:00 FYI… There are some issues with IFTTT and the recipes. This is because of the Google changes that occurred this week. Mostly because YouTube is now passing “http://www.youtu.be/” to the IFTTT URL insert tag. This has caused some embedding issues. Seems it no longer passes the “watch” url to IFTTT any longer.
10:00 I'm following the advanced RSS training. In the grouping feeds video, you have in your spreadsheet 12 RSS URLs + 3 feedburner URLS for the Google properties + 1 Yahoo Pipes RSS URL for the YouTube channel.
Why don't you create feedburner URLS and Yahoo Pipes RSS URLs for ALL 12 sites? Is it worth doing that? Also, can you confirm that we'll do that both for our T1 and 3 T2 rings?
I'm willing to bet that it would make sense to increase domain authority by having more content, especially syndicated content via IFTTT and all the other good stuff you train us to do. Even though I'm not directly targeting a money domain, I'm still getting high DA links to the domain and spreading links over more pages which should increase DA and ultimately the power of my money site links.
Could below average / spun content put my entire domain at risk in this scenario? Same question for curated / syndicated content as well. Is it in your estimation worthwhile to have this automated domain authority stack persisting forever or would the risk offset the potential rewards? What about the effect of syndicating say ten better than average blog pages (hand spun, relevant, non-linked to money sites) versus persistent below average quality content (less relevant, auto spun, non-linked)?
I guess what I'm trying to figure out is whether you tend to see diminished returns from having all of these tiered syndicated links and whether content quality matters as much when it's content minus links?
