Adam: Hello everybody, and welcome to Hump Day Hangout. This is episode 54. Today is November 11. Happy Veterans Day to everybody out there. Real quick, we want to say hello obviously, and we got some great announcements. We'll get this started. How's it going Hernan? [inaudible 00:00:53]

Hernan: Hey everyone. Hey Adam. It's really good to be here. [inaudible 00:00:17]

Adam: Hey Marco what's up?

Marco: Hey everybody, what's up?[inaudible 00:00:22]

Adam: Last, but not least, Bradley how you doing?

Bradley: Good man, good. How are you?[inaudible 00:00:26]

Video Power House

Adam: Good, good. Can't complain. It's been a busy week. We've just been putting the finishing touches on getting Video Powerhouse ready to go. We're happy to say that it is live. I'm going to be dropping the link in here and you guys can go sign up right away.

This is the embed network that we've been talking about for the past couple months. The story behind this, if we haven't told you, is basically we were looking for ways to go about and get our own video embeds for ranking our own videos. We've been checking out some products that are out there, and not to name names or anything, but we were very unsatisfied to put it nicely with what we found available out there.

We've put together what we would we would call a pretty killer network. This is very powerful. These are real sites that have metrics and are surrounded by IFTTT networks that we have built. All right, this is the same type of stuff that we provide through our own network services. I'm going to pop the link in there. Again, we've been talking about it so I'm not going touch up to much on it but by all means if you're interested in ranking your videos I highly suggest you check this out.

Bradley: I do want to mention, it's going to be a limited release because it is a new network. We don't want to overload it, so we're only going to be allowing about 50 people in. Then, we're going to shut it down so we can make sure it's running smoothly with 50 people in it. Just so you guys know, there was a waiting list and everything else. We're opening it up, but it's going to be a limited thing. It's not a scarcity thing we're doing, we're actually doing that specifically so that we can make sure we can handle the volume and work out any bugs because it is a new network.

That said, we're going to be reinvesting in that network to continue to build it out. Right now, it's just a general marketing video embed network in other words, you can pretty much embed anything besides what the typical no-go things are like Farma, porn, that kind of stuff. As we start bringing customers in we're going to reinvest in the network and build out at least five top level category themed networks, plus the general network. We'll end up with six, each having it's own minimum of 100 sites as the tier one, plus 20 web 2. This is part of the IFTTT rings around each one of those. It comes out to be 100 tier one embeds and 2,000 tier 2 embeds. Embeds backlogging social signals, that sort of thing per network.

We're going to have essentially five top level categories like health and wellness, construction/home services, business/financial, those kind of top level categories. Just so you guys are aware, currently it is not a themed network. It is just a general network. We're going to use that while we continue to build out the other high level categories. Obviously, as that continues to get developed we'll be giving out notifications of it as well. Do you want to add anything else to that Adam?

How to Correct GPlus Badge Not Showing in for Blogger Blogs?

By April

One of the participants in the Episode 54 of Hump Day Hangout asked why does his GPlus badge is not showing in his Blogger blog, which is connected to the IFTTT Networks.

The exact question was:

HI Guys. I have been setting up Blogger accounts for IFTTT networks, and when I go to set up the G+ badge, the ID number in both the G+ profile & the G+ page (URL’s) are both the same number, so the Google + badge won’t come up.
Did Google change the url’s? Or am I doing something wrong, or by chance did I miss a update?

Here is an example of the latest account I’m trying to build out, as you can see the ID numbers are the same. But yet both addresses work to each page.

Best Practices on On-Page Optimization and Protecting Money Sites

By April

In Episode 54 of Semantic Mastery's Hump Day Hangout, one of the participants asked about the best practices on On-Page optimization as well as in protecting one's money site.

The exact question was:

Can you please go over how you do on page optimization? Also, when purchasing services on fiverr or source market how far out do you go to protect your money site. For example, would you purchase a domain stacking service and use that on a tier1 which has direct links to your money site??

Is it Important to Check Backlink Indexing Rate?

By April

One of the questions being raised in the Episode 54 of the weekly SEO Q&A Hump Day Hangout is about the importance of indexing, particularly the backlinks generated from the FCS Networker and GSA.

The exact question was:

Hey guys… My question is regarding indexing and the importance of it.  Over the years everything I have learnt in SEO has suggested that indexing is everything and if the links your building are not getting indexed they are worthless.  The problem I am noticing mainly with my indexing rates is in getting FCS & GSA links indexed (which I am using to power up my IFTTT network) and also some of my IFTTT posts.  I currently use backlink commando plugin, backlinks indexer and when I check the indexing rates using inspyder backlinks monitor and scrapebox I am noticing some very low indexing rates.  I also use the google indexing tool but its simply not practical for large numbers of links

QUESTION:  Do you guys actually check or even recommend checking the indexing rates of your backlinks and how important do you feel it is to get them indexed.  I may have heard one of you say they will still pass link juice if they are not indexed but how much emphasis do you guys place on the monitoring and indexing rates?  Would really like to know whether I am overthinking this whole indexing thing. Thank you all for providing such excellent training!

Free Grader & How to Fix Meta Keyword Issues?

By April

One of the attendees of the Episode 53 or Semantic Mastery's Hump Day Hangout has mentioned about keyword issues based on the results given to him by an online tool called Free Grader.

The exact question asked was:

I ran freegrader.com on my domain. Main Heading and Site Keywords failed. I have Yoast SEO installed- How do I fix the main heading and keyword issue?

What to Do When You Want to Request Additional Client Budget?

By April

One of the particpants of the Episode 53 of Semantic Mastery's Hump Day Hangout asked about dealing with clients when you want to request additional budget for an existing SEO campaign.

The exact question asked was:

Most of the services I use to rank my clients' websites are subscription based. So that means that I need to keep paying them every month to maintain my rankings.

However, I've noticed that when I start working on a new client's site, the first 4 to 6 months rankings skyrocket but then reach a plateau.

My problem is that I don't have any more budget to create more links so I now need to tell my clients that if they want to rank even higher, they need to invest more money.

What would the solution be to avoid that kind of situation?

Should I stop renting links completely to reallocate that budget to create new FCS networker /GSA links each month??

Fixing Issues with Tumblr and Other Web 2.0s in IFTTT Networks

By April

During Episode 53 of Hump Day Hangout, one question raised is about issues with Tumblr templates and other Web 2.0s in the IFTTT networks.

The exact question asked was:

Hey Guys..Having a a couple small problems with my first IFTTT network. 1) Tumblr does to NOT let me enter the HTML into the description area under the title to add our links to the Google Plus About page and our Blogger account. Everything else went fine until I tried adding the “<br><ahref=”https://plus.google.com/b/116025903679913075163/116025903679913075163/about” after the brief description that was already there under editing. The above code actual shows up on the Tumblr page as you type it in the editor now. Click “Save” then refresh the page and and the html all shows up under the description as text along with the description and no hyperlinks. When Bradley did the training the code never showed up but the other text did as it should.  2) WordPress is giving me a problem with verifying my WordPress site for Gravatar. Blogger , Google+ and YouTube went just fine. Rechecked all emails and passwords three time and tried re-verifying a few times. They were all entered correctly. No luck. The following message in quotes appears when the verification fails: “No Blogs Found – Either your WordPress Blog is not Responding or it's not listing any of the blogs against the account details you entered. Please check that the username/password you entered are for an account which is associated with at least one blog.” Thanks for your recommendations…wasn't on last week but watched the replay…thanks for all the great stuff on Tier 2 link building and correct structuring… really helped me make sense of a lot of questions I've had for a while. 🙂 Ed?

Adam: … Hangouts today. It's the 4th of November and as you well know we've passed the 1 year mark and we are on episode 53. We'll go down the list here as usual and say hello. How's it going Chris?

Chris: Hey Adam! How's everybody doing?

Adam: Good, Hernan, how's it going?

Hernan: Hey stranger, hey everyone. It's good to be here.

Adam: I got nothing. Marco, how you doing man?

Marco: That's pseudo Adam, what's up man?

Adam: Hey Bradley, what's up?

Bradley: Yeah, that's the kinder, gentler Adam with the nose scruff beard.

Chris: Yeah, it's for [crosstalk 00:00:36].

Bradley: It's for aerodynamics so he can run faster.

Adam: I had to make some changes after Halloween, and if Kendrick's here and he asks I'll post that picture from Halloween and I don't rock a goatee and that's why I had to shave. I'll share that picture if he's on here, because he was asking about it.

Bradley: The door is wide open for Wayne Clayton.

Adam: Yeah.

Chris: You shaved the beard halfway for Halloween?

Adam: Yeah.

Chris: Like split face, like I'm serious?

Adam: Oh no, not like halfway. I had like just the goatee like the part right here. [crosstalk 00:01:09].

Chris: Okay.

Marco: Yeah, it was pretty good I saw the picture.

Adam: Yeah, I was pretty happy.

Bradley: Kevin Butler says, Bradley will go beardless next week? No my face is too fat. If I don't have a beard then I look funny.

Adam: Oh man. Well today we just have 1 quick announcement so go ahead and let everybody know if you haven't heard we do have a date for the release of the Twitter SEO Academy, which I believe actually somebody was asking about. That is going to be on Monday, the 23rd of November, so stay tuned. We will definitely be having some more information and some details about it, but we wanted to say we've got the release date, and we're getting ready for that.

Bradley: Do you want to mention that JV page in case anybody wants to promote it?

Adam: I do, I do not have the link on me so I will grab it and post it up here but we've got a … Hernan will do that. Thank you.

Hernan: Mm-hmm (affirmative)-

Adam: Yeah, if you are interested in promoting, by all means Hernan will drop the link in there, go check it out, see if that's what you want to do. You can also win some great prizes so just check out the JV page and it's pretty self-explanatory.
