In episode 310 of Semantic Mastery's weekly Hump Day Hangouts, one participant asked how to properly integrate the GMB and website of an acquired business to your existing brand.
The exact question was:
Basic GMB question. I have a client who bought his dental practice from another dentist. The old dentist GMB is ranking OK (3 in some map packs around the office) and 2nd organically. What is best approach, try to merge in the GMB, mark it as closed and rank the new one (with new business name)? For website the old one has a popup directing to the new site. Should I take that site down or leave it up? Just worried about Possum but if I could rank them both I would be fine with that. Both businesses have exact same address.
