How Do You Move Photos Without Losing Their EXIF Data?

By April

In Hump Day Hangouts episode 278, one participant asked how to move photos without losing their EXIF data.

The exact question was:

Hey guys, what's a good way to move photos without losing their EXIF data? I notice that when clients of mine email me pictures they took on their phone, the location data disappears. If a client is taking photos at all, I have them upload to the Google listing through Maps. However I still try to use their geotagged photos in the GMB posts themselves, though the EXIF data always disappears when I receive a photo by email/text, meaning I gotta add EXIF manually.

Does Uploading Photos To A GMB Site Strip Out The Geotag and EXIF Data?

By April

In episode 221 of our weekly Hump Day Hangouts, one participant asked if uploading photos to a GMB site strips out the geotag and EXIF data.

The exact question was:

Hey guys! I have a GMB related question. Does uploading photos to a GMB site strip out the geotag and EXIF data? I recently uploaded photos to a GMB site and it stripped the titles and renamed them “”Untilted.”” Why did it do that? That got me to wondering if it strips the title, what about rest of the EXIF data? Also, if this is true, how does that affect the teaching in Section 2 of the LLP Course? Thanks.
