To Niche or Not to Niche in IFTTT V2?

By April

During the 74th episode of Semantic Mastery's weekly Hump Day Hangouts, one viewer asked about whether or not to use niche with IFTTT Network v2.

The exact question was:

Hi guys, first of all I'd like to congratulate you on V2.0 its one of the best, if not the best online marketing courses available probably ever and I've bought many. Very well done.

But I have a dilemma… to niche or not to niche, that is the question.

I heard you say in a webinar that when starting out online you should of targeted niches or industries that interested you.

I would love to help video production companies with their online marketing because I love the video, especially with your training, but I feel I may be limiting myself and have a strong urge to build loads of random networks and just throw shit at the wall and see what sticks!

I don't mind throwing shit at the wall but its only me right now so would this be the best use of my time and energy or should I go beast mode and keep building networks for the one niche and build extra Tumblr, Weebly etc. all in the same niche? WWBBD : )?

What URL to Enter When Triggering the RSS Feed in an IFTTT Branded Network?

By April

In Semantic Mastery's Hump Day Hangouts episode 70, one participant asked what URL must be used when triggering RSS Feeds in a branded IFTTT network.

The exact question was:

1) For a BRANDED network – In Instapaper, Pinboard and other properties- what url do we enter when trying to trigger the RSS feed – when we are to trying to set up an RSS feed? blogger post or post on our website?

2) Pinboard looks great but I have about 10 questions on what to check yes or no and a few set up issues – how should I ask those? a Facebook post?

Hey Bradley sorry for the extra questions but hangout is only 6 hours away and if others haven't posted yet, then I will 🙂 thanks.?

In the video, Bradley explained that the URL to use for branded network would be the RSS feed URL of the money site, the blog or the main YouTube channel. These are going to be used as content distribution channel in the IFTTT network. He mentioned that the reason why the IFTTT triggers in Instapaper is not working is because the latter removed its RSS URL. However, Instapaper does allow public profile and in order for IFTTT to triger the feed item in IFTTT, one should manually logged in and like all the RSS items so that it can be distributed to the blog or website within the syndication network.

By April

In the 70th episode of our weekly Hump Day Hangouts, a participant asked about the current status of Kuratur. Bradley and Hernan also added tips on how to deal with properties that are not working well in IFTTT.

The exact question was:

Update 3:58 PM. I just got through checking all the Tier 2 Rebel Mouse sites and apparently your VA's never checked “publish posts without media” box when they built them. They should be all set now, I hope.. 🙂

Does anybody know what's up with Kuratur, their site has been down for over month now? 2) My videos do not seem to be showing up in the “videos” link section of all Paper.li sites also, just wondering if there is a way to correct this or how I can check something?

Thanks for your help 🙂

IGNORE THIS SECTION: 🙂
Hi Guys…I have noticed on all my IFTTT networks EXCEPT for the Tier 1's that Rebel Mouse is not streaming content out to Tier 2 and 3 properties.

Creating Tier 1 Branded Network and Tier 1 Persona Network for the Same Money Site

By April

A question about creating a Tier 1 Branded Network and another Tier 1 Persona network on the same money site was asked during Episode 56 of Hump Day Hangout. The participant would like to know if this is a good strategy or should be something to avoid at.

The exact question was:

On a side note since I have your attention, one last question. Can you build a Tier 1 Branded IFTTT Network and a Tier 1 Persona IFTTT Network to the same money site? Would this be just as effective, but less of a headache than managing a tier 2 network to your money site? This would avoid the complications of having to add extra relevant RSS feeds to hide the money site's RSS feed in, and the risks of over-optimized keyword links, etc.

Thanks for your input guys!?
