In the 338th episode of Semantic Mastery's weekly Hump Day Hangouts, one participant asked if it is a good idea to build out citations to each individual location page for a business that serves clients on a national level.

The exact question was:

Hey guys, got a question for Bradley. Suppose you have a servive area business client that can service clients nationally. The website has main service pages and then location pages for the different cities. A branded stack, PR and branded citations have been made for the business name linking back to the homepage. The business offers multiple services and has all the location pages made. Is it a good idea to also build out citations each individual location page. E.g. citations to businessnamsservice1cityname and a different batch of citations for businessnameservice2cityname. Thanks!

Are There Any Risks To Having Too Many City Subdomains?

By April

YouTube video

In episode 131 of the weekly Hump Day Hangouts by Semantic Mastery, one viewer asked if it’s risky to add too many subdomains that point to each city for a company in multiple locations.

The exact question was:

I have a Client that has locations in several spread out states (ie. TX, FL, CA), so creating any kind of “City Pages” on the root (clowncollege.com/miami-juggling clowncollege.com/dallas-juggling) doesn’t make sense. Obviously all actual (GMB) locations will be subdomains, but other supporting cities (without GMB) will also be subdomains, are the any risks to having “too many” city subdomains?

When you consider ServPro has a domain for every city in the country with 98.35% duplicate content I am sure I over think the “”safety”” aspect when it comes to local, but I appreciate the help nonetheless.
