In episode 213 of Semantic Mastery's weekly Hump Day Hangouts, one participant asked if a company's branding is affected when an RYS G Site ranks higher than the money site for the main targeted keywords.
The exact question was:
It looks like it may be possible for the RYS G Site to rank for the main targeted keyword before the money site does. If so, that would be an unfortunate money site branding situation (even though the G Site is carrying links to the money site). I thought the RYS stacks would push ranking juice to the money site so that the money site gets the ranking and the traffic juice. Am I confused on this point?
Adam: All right, welcome everybody. This is Hump Day Hangouts. I just realized that I did a live stream in our Facebook group asking people to come to Hump Day Hangouts 214. Bradley: Okay, cool. And one thing I want to mention, I just thought it was funny that the Local Lease Pro method is just crushing it guys and it's … I don't know, how long it's going to last for us to have this kind of opportunity. So we're trying to build as quickly as we can and that's basically what we're teaching in the Mastermind. And it's super important and what's really cool about, there's a one particular metro area that I've already got a service provider lined up for and they asked for us. They give me a list of specific locations that they want to get more work from and so I did the locate … Well, I had my VA do the location research and I think there was 12 maybe 13 areas in total that we researched like zip codes essentially. And I ended up identifying five that we were going to attempt to secure and to rank for Legion.
And I got three out of five in the maps pack, in the three pack with nothing other than claiming, verifying and optimizing the GMB profile. It didn't have any press releases, it didn't have any off page stuff. It was just literally just optimizing the profile. So three out of five in the metro area almost overnight. It's just fabulous guys. And so that's kind of stuff you can expect with Local Lease Pro. And that's, again, we're going to be doing the update webinar on the 17th. So I highly recommend that you show up for that so you can get a taste of what it is that we're doing, okay. And with that, I'm going to go ahead and grab the screen. I'm going to get into some questions.
Is There A Bottom Threshold For GMB Regarding City Size And Demand?
And so if it's in a really small town, and there's nobody actually advertising spending money on Google ads in that area for those keywords, which is, it's rare that you find those but it does happen. Then that data might not show for those keywords. But because nobody's bidding on them, right? Nobody's bidding on those keywords. So there's no reason for that data to be tracked. But that doesn't mean you can't get leads from there. I know that to be a fact because like I said, from Tree Service as well as some other industries that I've been in where the keyword track or the keyword data doesn't show any search volume, but I don't care because it still ends up generating leads.
As far as what I'm doing for my minimum size like when I have location research done by my VA for let's say 30 zip codes around a metro area, including the metro area and then the adjacent or surrounding areas. Let's say we research 30 zip codes. Out of that what once we've identified all the zip codes within a specific radius, then my VA goes and searches the population data for each one of those zip codes and then sorts it and gets rid of any unique or stand or, excuse me. Unique or P.O.Box type zip codes which have zero population and then the ones that, the remaining zip codes that do have population the window that I'm selecting is no less than 10,000. If the zip code has less than 10,000 people, then I omit that.
Now that's not saying that you can't get leads from that. You certainly can. I'm just saying that typically I'm going for 10,000 or more population in a specific zip code, because it's going to produce more call volume, right? It's likely to produce more call volume. So that's just an arbitrary number that I pulled out of the air no kidding. Maybe at some, once I have more of a streamlined process and everything else I may test with some lower population areas and see if I could still generate just as good results or similar results. But that's currently my threshold. And there's really no rhyme or reason to that I just selected that, okay.
But again, it doesn't matter how small the area is, people need stuff, right? Like, so it doesn't matter even if it's a very small town with a small population of say 3,000. Those 3,000 people are still going to need services, right? Of whatever it is. So if you can get a listing in that area, it might not generate a lot of leads, but it should generate leads nonetheless. Okay?
Marco: Yeah, I would add that it depends on what the lead is worth. Because if you're getting 10 and it's only 10 bucks, I don't know if you want to bother with $100 a month, although some people … If you do that 1,000 times, that's a whole lot of money.
Marco: Right? But if you're dealing with something that's high demand in the area, and high ticket so that maybe two or three calls a month is all you need to make this successful for whoever it is, then I mean, totally, because 15,000 people you're going to get some kind of call volume. What kind of call volume? I don't know, you're going to have to research. Research the competition, research what's going on. 15,000, I would say definitely.
Marco: That's not a small size town. I mean that it's small in comparison to others, but you're still going to get decent call volume maybe in the 30 to 40 calls a month range maybe I don't know. If you get a call a day, you're good to go. Calls that turn into leads. Let's say if you get one a day, 20 a month you're good to go. The dermatologist is happy because he wasn't getting those before and it depends on how much he's willing to pay you for your efforts. I mean you got to weight that. How much are you going to get paid for the work that you're going to do.
Actually in if you have Local Lease Pro and you know how easy it is, you'd laugh all the way the bank because literally there's very little that you need to do.
Bradley: Yeah, I agree. I mean, there's no way for me to speculate on how many calls you could generate from a city with 15,000, especially for dermatology keywords. It's not something I've ever … I've never worked in that industry. So I couldn't tell you. But my point is if a three pack is showing its 15,000 people in that population in that area and you said it's a mess and can be easily taken over, then I'd do it, right? I mean it depends. Are you getting paid. Has he already agreed to pay you to do it or are you talking about doing it to generate leads. However you decide to do it.
If he's interested the dermatologist that is, then I would go ahead and do it. Because 15,000 people that's perfect for me as far as … That's right in my window it's above 10,000. And so a lot of the zip codes that we target range between 10,000 and 30,000 people. It's right in there, that's a good number so I would absolutely go after it.
Something else Larry you can check out is use Google Trends. Go to google.com/trends and you can take … And that's trends, T-R-E-N-D-S and then you can actually sort, you can put in keywords like dermatology, dermatologist, things like that and then select your State, select United States and then select your State that you're in. And then you can get kind of an idea of what the Search interest is. It doesn't show search volume, it shows search interest and it's like a percentage, essentially. So you'll see search interest for the keywords, not only for like dermatologist and dermatology and again I'm not familiar with that industry. So I don't know what somebody looking for that would search for, but that's a great place to start. That is always where I start for any type of keyword research is Google Trends because I can specify my area, my location, my geography, and then I can narrow down all the way to a city level. But that typically restricts data considerably.
I usually start at the State level and if I don't see a lot of data, then I'll broaden my search to United States so the entire country, right? But usually I'll start with just the state level and then also you can adjust the time. So how much data are you looking at as far as historical data. I think by default now it's at 12 months, the previous 12 months of data. But you can select from that drop down also like five years, the last five years or since they started Google Trends, since Google Trends started tracking this data which I think was in 2004.
You can go all the way back to their if you want and that'll give you even more data. But what's cool about that as it will show you the top related search queries based upon your seed term which in this case would be like dermatologists for example. So it will give you a lot of other keywords that now you can start to do research on to identify other keywords that could generate traffic to the business, right? And that'll also, like I said, it doesn't show you search volume. But guys remember the AdWords Keyword planner is or the Google Ads Keyword Planner now, it's an AdWords tool. So when you're talking about doing stuff for SEO, I do still reference it occasionally because it gives me some idea of what type of interest there is for specific keywords but it's not an SEO tool.
It's different in that the data that it's showing is for AdWords data for people that are bidding on keywords and for people that are interacting or clicking on Google ads. So that's what it's showing not necessarily organic stuff, right? So that's why I say, I don't really care what search volume says anymore. I go to Google Trends I take a look there then I also use Power Suggest Pro to pull back a lot of long tail stuff based around my seed terms and then that's it. If I know that there's a suggested phrases and I know that trends shows that there's data and related keywords for that or whatever seed terms of researching then I go ahead and build it for them anyways.
And last but not least, I've said this before but something else you can do is to identify whether keywords convert, whether they generate traffic is set up a Google Ads account or a campaign, excuse me. Set up a Google Ads campaign and just throw a couple hundred dollars at it and test. Because with the alpha beta campaign structure which you can research that just go to Google and search alpha beta Google ads. And you'll see a PDF by what's called by … Excuse me, it's a PDF by a company called Q3 Digital. And talks about what alpha beta campaign structure is, which is really, really easy to set up. It's super simple to set up and it will very quickly show you which keywords are generating traffic and then that's what you can start your SEO campaign around or the keywords that are actually generating traffic, right?
And so that's something else that you can do. Just with a small budget is figure out which keywords are generating traffic and then build your SEO campaign around that. Here's the thing guys, I don't recommend going out and just throwing stuff at the wall when it comes to SEO. Like as far as, “Hey, I assume these keywords are going to be generate traffic. So I'm just going to go start SEOing for these keywords.” Because what happens is you spend a lot of time and effort and perhaps money too on optimizing assets. Building assets optimizing them, building links, creating content, all this other kind of stuff just to find out that maybe that's not a winner.
Whereas if you take AdWords, you could throw a couple hundred dollars at an AdWords campaign, which you could set up in an hour or two tops. If you know what you're doing, right? It could be done in an hour. And then you could let just let the campaign run and slightly optimize it over a few days. And then you'll have data that will show you exactly which keywords are generating traffic, and then those are the ones that you target with an SEO campaign. It will save you a lot of time and a lot of rework. Anyways, I was a good question, Larry.
Is It Okay To Use A Group Of Purchased Images To Different GMBs In The Same Niche And Geotag Them For Their Unique Locations?
My point is that they have a little bit more power. So that's one thing you can do. But what I have my VA do is about once a week just spend an hour going and collecting more photos just using the YouTube method and adding them to a photos master folder like a masters photo folder. In other words, it's just a pool of photos or screenshots or whatever that they've taken that we just keep adding to every single week. Another couple doesn't go in there or, however many they get done in about an hour. And that way as we continue to build GMB assets, our pool of available images is always growing, right? And so that way we can just select images at random from that that drive folder and then we just geo-tag them.
For example, if we're setting up a new asset, and let's say we want to optimize 30 images for daily posts or something, we'll you'll just randomly select 30 images from that photos master folder or even copy that entire folder. And then in put it in the project sub folder, and then use something like geo setter to geo-tag all of those images. And then whenever he goes to post, set up a GMB post or a blog post or anything really, he can go grab an image from that specific folder. It's already geo tagged. It's ready to go. Does that make sense?
We started off just with like 30 images that we started reusing over and over again for other assets. But I don't like that because it could potentially cause a problem. And you guys if you've probably heard me say this before. I hate rework. Like I hate losing assets, guys. I hated it. That sucks. It's very discouraging. So I'd rather spend the extra time developing the masters photo folder more and more on a weekly basis. And again, it's something a VA could do so that you just keep adding. Stock photos will work. Don't get me wrong. But I like to use more unique images of possible.
Marco: We did an entire webinar on how to get unlimited local images in Local GMB Pro.
Bradley: Yeah, [inaudible 00:26:23] right.
Marco: No, we didn't share it with … Yeah, we did invite RYS Academy-
Bradley: I thought so.
Marco: In fact, yes we did. So if you're in RYS Academy or Local GMB Pro, you have a way to get unlimited local images and I showed exactly how it's done. And you can have just thousands and thousands of unique images from your hometown and you can relate them all to whatever it is that you're doing. It's a really simple method. I don't know why nobody else has come up with it, has said, “Holy crap. This is so simple.” Because it really is. Once you see it and you see how easy it is, you're going to hit yourself in the head and say why didn't I think of it because it's stupid simple. So if you guys are in it, you just go, it's in the Facebook group in the Local GMB pro Facebook group and in the RYS academy Facebook group. I uploaded the webinar in there.
Bradley: Yeah and I would say definitely you know give more images as you can. It's time consuming to do the methods that Marco was talking about as well as the YouTube method. That's why I recommend that you have a VA do it. Just train a VA to do it guys. It's very inexpensive to have a VA collect images for you, will save you a ton of time.
Marco: Hang on a second. The reason why I did that webinar is I wanted to show people also why you shouldn't use stock images because Google AI can pick out everywhere where that stock image been used. And it's been used multiple times. So Google knows that it's a stock image rather than image taken by someone at the location. So why not go through a little bit extra trouble and give Google what it wants. When we try to trigger the algorithm, that's always what we look to do. We want to feed RankBrain as much data as possible. But it has to be new data for RankBrain to really pay attention.
Does It Affect Branding If The RYS G Site Ranks Higher Than The Money Site For The Main Targeted Keyword?
The idea is if you have a Google site that's well built and trust me the way that our guys do it from MGYB, it's incredible. Like, it's amazing how well they come out. I mean, they look really, really good. And there's a ton of data on them. And there's a ton of calls to action, as well as blinks and contact information and all that stuff, so that even if it ranks before the website does, which happens often, it doesn't matter because somebody clicks on it, they're still going to know exactly who the brand is, right? And they could click through to the money side if they wanted to. As far as I'm concerned, I don't care if the Google Site outranks the money site. It makes no difference to me because it's still a branded property that's pushing whoever lands on it to the brand. So in my opinion, it really doesn't matter.
Now, there are some things that you can do. Marco, can you add a canonical to a Google site? Is there a way to inject something in an HTML header? I can't remember [crosstalk 00:30:04].
Marco: Yeah. But that's not something that we're going to share. Not right now.
Bradley: Well, okay. I wanted to say how to do it. But I'm saying, you don't think Greg understands that canonical is anyways. But that's something that you could do. But I wouldn't even worry about it. Because, I would rather the Google Site index than not index and push all the power to the money site. Because if the Google site can index and it's still pushing power to the money site, then both could end up being on page one, right? And I would rather have that additional asset that would push a potential competitor off page one, than not have that asset. Does that make sense?
Is It Best To Embed The Map On The Homepage Of The Money Site Or Can It Be Embedded On Multiple Pages Throughout The Site?
Anyways, yes, that can happen sometimes Greg. But again, in my opinion, is that's not a bad thing at all. Number two, “Is it best to embed the map on the money site's homepage, or can be embedded on multiple pages?” It can be embedded on multiple pages, or it can be embedded in the footer or in the sidebar which will make it appear on all pages. That's perfectly fine. Typically I embed a map in like the footer, one of the footer widget areas or a sidebar. Typically that's how I do it. Okay?
Is It Possible To Change The GMB Address After Verifying It?
All right, we're going to be moving. James says, “Hey, hope you guys are well. Quick question if I may. Are you able to change a GMB address after you've receive the postcard and verified the original address? If so …” Well, now you can James only because everything changed recently. Now I don't know if it's a storefront business, as a point of sale. I know for like service area businesses, once you verified the profile, you just go in and clear out the address. There's actually even a link in there that says clear address. I mean, that's what you do now, which is crazy because for the longest time, ever since Google Maps came out, that's not how you did it. And that just changed within like the last six weeks or so. So yeah, you can and as far as … Recently even if you go remove the address, I don't know if you'd want to add the address back in unless it's a storefront.
If you have a storefront where people are going to be coming to the business then yes you want to make sure you have the correct address. But if it's a service area business you don't even need an address anymore once it's verified. Okay? Go ahead.
Marco: I would say that yes there's always a risk. Anytime you make changes to a Google My Business listing. This one is less unless you make too many changes. If you start making too many changes, the speed at which you do it comes into play. You do shit too fast you're going to get burned and I'm telling you're going to lose the asset. And if it's a client, your client is going to be pissed because you got their stuff … It's going to disappear gone. I mean, it's nearly impossible to get it back once Google says it suspended due to TOS violations or whatever. You're going to start making changes. Dude, slow and steady wins the race. So you do one thing, you let it sit for a while you come back. And never ever through the owner, don't ever use the owner.
I might be giving away too much. Set up a manager and do everything through the manager. Don't ever again sign in as the owner. Protect the owner at all costs. Put all of the blame on the manager.
Bradley: You and I have conflicting opinions on that. In my opinion, it depends on whether you're building a lead gen asset which is a spammed asset essentially or if it's for a bonafide business. If it's for a genuine business, then I totally agree with what Marco just said. But if it's for spam to dress I'm actually recommending that to do everything through the owner account and not even connect a manager account. I'm going to that route because I'm trying to reduce any potential footprint issues. And remember with lead gen assets guys, they're spammed addresses, right? There're spammed asset. So you want to reduce footprint or eliminate footprint if possible.
But when you're dealing with clients or like bonafide businesses, right, genuine businesses, then it's not an issue because they're real businesses that can be verified, right? And can be re-verified if needed. So that's why I would absolutely recommend what Marco said, if that's the case. And that would be like assign yourself as a manager and then make the changes as a manager not through the actual owner account. That makes sense.
Marco: Well, here's the deal with that. We have MGYB Done For You services, right? Excuse me, GMB Done For You services. And the only way that our VAs can go in is as managers. And so that's just the way that it has to be done. And in practice what I've been seeing is that anything that we do as managers, whether it's a spammed address or whether it's a real address, Google doesn't react to it because we never put anything that's of the same type … We never put 100 let's say Tree Service properties on one manager. We spread them out. We give them multiple niches. So each one is going to look like it's an agency actually working in the GMB rather than one big umbrella that's getting spammed. Everything under one umbrella. So that's the way we're actually doing it inside the Done For You services. Because they have to be added as managers.
Is There A Benefit In Changing “User Agent String” For Different Local Business Identities In Ghost Browser?
Even if we close Browseo that browsing session, that profile remains logged in to where when I pull up Browseo and open the Chrome browser the next time I'm already logged in, right? And so I don't care about the user agent stuff. That may be something that we start worrying about a later date. Right now it has not been an issue. It has not cause any problems so I don't mess with that. Again, guys I try to produce results with the absolute bare minimum required. Because otherwise especially when you're building stuff out at scale, the more steps you add the slower it takes to complete. And so we're trying to streamline things as much as possible.
Now again I'm not saying that that's not something that should be done or that will need to be done in the future I don't know. But it has not been an issue for me and the stuff that I've been doing yet. Does anybody have an opinion on that?
Marco: I don't do anything. I mean I have with Ghost Browser but very limited. I don't know. I found it very rigid. It might be a whole lot better … When it first came out. Might be a whole lot better now. They may have added a whole lot of stuff. But I'm just not familiar with it. And at any rate, I wouldn't be because the way that we teach it is get a VA to do it. And which is what I do. I just had a VA go through the training not for Ghost Browser but for Browseo and so that's what they do.
I'm sorry, but I can't help you with Ghost Browser. But we do have some people who use Ghost Browser. If you're in any of our paid groups-
Bradley: Yeah, just post about it.
Marco: Yeah, just posted in there, and we have a few [inaudible 00:38:03] if I'm not mistaken. There's a few people that are using Ghost Browser and are getting results with it. So, check in there.
Bradley: Yep, there you go. And last part of that, he said, apparently, there was an issue with the MGBYB website on his end. If you have an issue with something like that, just contact support at mgyb.co and try to get it addressed there, Randy. All right.
Should You Take Actions Or Just Ignore A Missing Street Address Of A Live GMB Listing?
But now as a service area business, it is recommended to clear the address. And once it's verified, you can clear the address. Google knows about what the original address was, but it's not even going to show in the dashboard anymore once you clear it, and that's absolutely fine. If it's a storefront, then yes, you want the address to show because you want people to be able to click for directions. You also want the location to show in maps so that people can find it for driving directions and all that stuff. But for service area businesses, there's no reason for the address to be listed. Because the business goes to the customer location, right? So that's what it should be. Just leave, and I'm assuming it's a service area business.
And so in that case those clients have purchased like, they have an account set up, like I use stockfresh.com is the stock image site that my company uses, my team uses. And so each one of my clients that we blog for has their own Stock Fresh account and they pay for the credits. And bloggers actually just access their account to pull images to post for them. That way in case there's ever any license claim issues for that specific business, that business is the license holder. You don't want to as an agency guys purchase stock credit images or licenses and then post them on client sites. Because the client sites or assets have to be the license holders in that case. So your clients can actually be hit with a copyright claim. Be sued for copyright infringement if they're not the license holders.
And trust me, how do I know this? Because I learned the hard way. So I'm telling you don't do that. If you're going to be posting for clients on client assets, you want to make sure that they're the license holders. However, if you're building lead gen assets and you are the owner, well, owner I'm using air quotes, but you control those assets, then you could actually have just one license for your parent company, whatever your company is, which I hope you have an LLC or a corporation. But your company would be the license owner and then all of those assets you could post them too because you can produce the license and also produced that you control those assets, right? You can prove that you control those assets. So that's what I would recommend.
But again I highly recommend that you're not using stock images. I mean there's other ways to get images like we just talked about.
Ralph Pendergraph says, “Last week I asked about GMB accounts that were suspended immediately after verification. Bradley, you asked how were my Gmail accounts created, and they were created on my cell phone with the same number.” Okay. “Which is probably the footprint and the reason for the suspension. Just want to update you guys.” Well thanks for the update Ralph. That could be it. It's getting harder and harder to create Gmail accounts and that's why we typically just buy them. But we've been having issues with some of those recently too. It is, it's just getting tougher guys. And so we're just going to have to keep trying to work around to get to figure all this shit out. I mean, that's the nature of this industry, right? The cat and mouse game that is SEO.
But yeah, that's why it's important. If you're going to be using account providers, which is what I recommend, it's very important to find a provider that also doesn't leave footprints. Because what sucks is you end up with accounts that you start to do stuff with and then they get terminated incredibly easy, and it's because they were flagged to begin with, and that's a problem.
Marco: I think, well, here's the thing, right? And I've said it before, and I have to say it again, it's all about ART, activity, relevance, trust and authority. And not necessarily in that order, but you have to have it all in order for Google to pay attention. If you already have people coming into your website interacting and staying, page speed becomes a non-factor because ART trumps everything. Let me say it again, in case you haven't heard me. All of the other times that I said it ART trumps everything including page speed. Page speed becomes irrelevant because people visit the website and if it's slow, they expect it to be slow and they wait for it to load. Some websites take forever to load.
I mean, and if you're there for a specific reason, you're going to stay. Now, if you have a brand new site, it doesn't have any visitors, it doesn't have anything, then one of the things that is going to matter is that page speed. Because you want people who are coming in to have it available right away and to be able to stay and take action, right? Once you have that going, then again, it becomes a non-factor. How important is AMP? AMP is immediate, because it's Google cached.
And while the project is going, and while Google is paying attention to it, then it's important. And we still have the plugin in the, what do you call it, in the AMP group, in Facebook. So [inaudible 00:44:46] it's still there. It's up to date, it's working. You could do lots of fun stuff with it. So there you go.
At What Rate Do You Disavow Toxic Backlinks Indicated From SEMRush In Google Search Console?
And this was back when I first took the client on which was shit, that's at least four years ago maybe closer to five now. And I was actually pitching the client on SEO services when I happen to look at their backlink profile, and I was using Majestic SEO at the time. But I noticed like, all these awful anchor texts that were pointing to the site. And in fact, those were like, the primary anchor texts. Where like, all these really disgusting, awful things that were being used.
And so that was actually really kind of helped me land that client was because I shared the data from the Majestic report and showed, I was like, “Look, you're getting spammed man. You're getting negative SEO essentially.” And I said, “This could be a real issue. If it hasn't already caused a problem, it certainly is going to.” And so that was part of the reason it became urgent all of a sudden for him to get that cleaned up. And that's part of the reason I ended up landing that client.
One of the things that I did was I would just export the link list from Majestic and then sort by those awful anchor texts and then I would submit all those URLs to the disavow Google … I would disavow those, right? As a disavow file. But the guy was persistent as hell. So again about every three months … At least originally, initially, I did it for about the first year about every three months I would go in and resubmit a new disavow file because additional links would index or appear that we're crappy negative SEO links. But, over time it … And it absolutely helped. I was able to get the site to rank really, really well. So those links were not hurting.
Now, I know a lot of people say don't ever disavow links with Google Search Console. I know people tin foil hat, say because you're just feeding Google Data all that. But I've recovered several sites that had penguin penalties by disavowing links. It's not something I do regularly anymore because all the SEO stuff that I do now doesn't … It's very rare that I come across people that or sites that have to do that kind of stuff. I don't recommend link cleanup jobs. It's a pain in the ass. It's very tedious.
But if you've already got a client and this is an issue then, yeah. And again, there's probably different opinions even from my partners, but for me personally I have had been successful many times by disavowing shitty links. Like I said, I did it quarterly initially and then I went to it about every six months and to be honest I probably haven't even looked in about the last two years now for that particular client. But he's kicking ass so it doesn't matter. So what do you guys think? Marco you got an opinion on that?
Marco: Yeah, I've never disavowed a link and never will.
Bradley: There you go, point in case.
Hernan: I'm in the middle, right? So you guys are like, I always disavow and I never disavow. I think that Google is kind of intelligent enough at these points so that it will tell what kind of links are bring in or are more valuable than others and it all comes down to what Marco was saying. If those links are bringing in traffic and authority and relevance and whatnot. But it all comes down to what do you see in the rankings. Are they fluctuating? Are they piling up? Like it's normal that your website will have a couple backlinks that they're not there because there's a lot of websites that are just like scraping links left and right. Yeah, that's what I would say. Don't touch it unless it really goes down or they're piling up.
Bradley: I agree with what Hernan. If it's not causing any negative effects, then don't bother Jordan. If you've already started doing that though, and you're not seeing any negative effects, then I would almost say do not submit the disavow file because it could be that the reason it hasn't shown any negative effects is because you've been submitting. If you're currently comfortable with the situation, whatever it is that you're doing either submitting it or not submitting it, but you're comfortable with the results, then keep doing what you're doing is what I'm saying. But typically, like I said, I knew Marco was … I kind of assumed that Marco was going to counter what I said, but I haven't done it in probably two years, like I said guys. But I used to do it when needed and it was fine. I was actually able to successfully recover several sites that way.
But again, I've no other people that say never, never, never submitted a disavow file. But I kind of agree with Hernan too just in that Google has gotten a lot better to determine which links are valuable and which ones aren't. And they kind of disregard their non-valuable links.
Marco: It's called the distance graph algorithm, right? I wrote about it in 2015. That's when it kicked in. That's when Google started just not paying attention to the garbage links and really paying attention to quality links from trusted authoritative sources. The more trusted and authoritative the source in the niche that's what we always say relevance. Or we say ART activity, relevance, trust and authority. That's what activates the distance graph algorithm. So it's not really tinfoil hat. I always say fuck Google anyway.
Yeah, I could give a shit what they do. But this is actually something that's based on science. Google just doesn't pay attention to the garbage links. Whatever they're pointing at you, Google will give them less and less and less authority as time goes by. They might have an effect initially, but you don't really have to disavow them because they won't really count since they have no trust or authority. Now if you have traffic coming through those, let me just clarify. If you have traffic coming through those garbage links, then they can become powerful enough to really affect your website.
And I'm not going to get into how to do negative SEO or hot are how to change the semantic relationship of a website. You can really screw somebody over really bad just by changing the semantic relationship of the website. And there's ways to do it, which I won't get into in this forum.
What Is A Drive Stack?
Bradley: Felician says, “What exactly is a Drive Stack? Thanks.” It's using Google Drive properties for SEO purposes. That's the simplest explanation I can give you. And I'm not even going to try to expand on that. What exactly is a drive stack? It's using Google Drive, which is Google Docs and Sheets and drawings and maps and all that stuff that's available on Google Drive as an SEO tool. That's it. I'm going to move on. We're almost out of time.

Is It Possible To Review The Process For Creating A New WP Site By Using A Redirect From The Old HTML Site?
Then yes, and htaccess would be a great way to do that. All you got to do is like, for example, just build a list of all your pages from your HTML site and the URLs. And then you could just redirect those to the new pages on the WordPress site. Because typically HTML sites are going to have like, dot html at the end or something like that at the end of the pages, whereas WordPress doesn't, right? So you could just set up all those redirects in htaccess Marcus, and that's absolutely how you could do it yet.
That's the point, is you just want to set up 301 redirects. In fact, I'm not sure if you can do it with the plugin. I think you can. I use simple 301 redirects is a great WordPress plugin because it's exactly as the name says. It's a simple 301 redirects. It's super, super easy. All you do is you put the original URL in the left column and in the right column, you put the target URL, the new destination and it'll automatically set up redirects and so like, you could take your HTML extensions, right? So from each individual page and put that in column A and column B is where you would add the new WordPress page or post whatever the URL that you want to redirect that old one to.
But that's just if you want to do it within WordPress. If you want to do at htaccess, if you're comfortable editing htaccess, you can absolutely do it there. And that's probably the best place to do it if you're going to do it. I'm not comfortable editing htaccess guys, so I typically use the plugins, or if I have some redirects that I want done via htaccess. Fortunately, I use really good hosts like Liquid Web or WPX hosting. And I can ask them to do it, hosting support to do it. And they'll do it for me. Because again, I don't like messing around in the htaccess. I'm not one of those types of coding nerds. I don't understand that shit. And so I just stay out of it. Okay, cool. We're going to keep on moving. We're almost done anyways.
Felicia says, “Next one was not Dan's question. I see mine was deleted. Great.” I'm not seeing … What are you talking about Felicia or Felician? I'm not sure what he's talking about. Next one was not Dan's question. Okay anyways, I don't know what you're talking about and nobody can delete comments from this page at least I don't think you can. No, and so if you posted a question and it's not appearing Google Plus sometimes will say that comments or spam and there's no way for us to control that. And if Google says it's a spam comment and it takes it from the page and we can't even see it as an admin, page admin. Just so you're aware of that. It's nobody was targeting you, okay. If you posted a question and it's not appearing then it's because Google took it off the page not us. All right.

Any Recommendations For Some Call Forwarding Platforms For Rank And Rent Sites?
Gregory says, “Can you see suggest a couple of call forwarding platforms for ranking websites?” Oh, yes, Gregory. Great question. I used CallFire for … I still use CallFire because it's so ingrained into my business. I've been using CallFire since 2012. No, actually probably … Well, I don't know. Between 2010 and 2012 is when I started using CallFire and I've been using it ever since. So I've got dozens and dozens, if not a 100 plus phone numbers in CallFire.
However, I just started for this GMB asset building the scaling like because we're really building this out. I started using CallRail. I freaking love it. In fact, I would love to transfer all of my numbers from CallFire into CallRail. But that whole porting numbers over is a complete cluster fuck. Like, it's not something I want to do, and it takes several weeks. I'm just not even going to attempt it. Everything that I'm building now though, I'm using CallRail. It's fabulous. It's inexpensive. There are so many amazing features in CallRail guys. It's awesome. So I highly recommend you use CallRail. Anybody have any other suggestions?
Marco: I totally agree I've been using it for about five six years.
Bradley: Yeah, it's great. I really wish I would have started using it a long time ago.
Hernan: But have you tried to integrating them with any other tools yet? I assume they're pretty deeply … I mean I would assume CallRail's been around for a while. So they can act like an example.
Bradley: Oh my gosh. They'll integrate with just about everything. And they'll integrate directly with like Google Ads. I mean it's awesome. And there's a bunch of different apps that will natively integrate with it. But then it will also connect to Zapier, which means you can pretty much connect to anything. So it's amazing.
Hernan: Well, that's good. We should probably talk with the Local Lease Pro people because I see it too. I'm looking at the CallRail pricing info. It's nice they got packages. So if you did this per like metro area, you could include this and kind of have things separated out. I kind of like how this is setup.
Bradley: Yeah. That's great. So great question Gregory. All right, Jordan says, “I'm planning on donating 200 to the charity to get in to Marco's negative SEO webinar.” That's funny. I've never done negative SEO guys never. Never once. Don't get me wrong, I've been tempted to do it. But I've always thought that I would rather work on stuff that can produce revenue, than to take somebody else out because they pissed me off. You know what I mean? And not only that, but I truly believe in karma guys. Karma is a bitch. The universe as a way to working stuff out. And if you're out there negative SEOing, and I know Jordan was kidding. But if you're out there negative SEOing somebody, like that's going to come back and bite you in the ass at some point in your life at some time.
I'm least that's what I believe. And so I've just never done it. And again, I've been tempted in the past. I've had other people like in a tree service industry example, I've had other tree businesses call and report stuff to Google My Business. I've had them leave negative reviews on the GMB assets because I outranked them. That kind of stuff. And so I've been tempted to like, oh yeah, Mr. Tree guy, you think you're smart? Like, don't you know, this is what I do for a living. I can destroy your online presence. You know what I mean? But I've never done it. I've thought about it, but I've never done it because I've always thought Why would I want to spend my time doing that when I can just build more assets to produce more revenue? You know what I mean? And again, I know Jordan was kidding, but that's just my philosophy on negative SEO.

Adam: All right. Cool. Well, like we said, Lisa Allen is here with us. We appreciate Lisa, you coming on and hanging out with us. Again, for people who haven't seen us over maybe for, about a year I guess was the last time we talked, man, that's crazy.
Adam: Anyways, we talked to Lisa about a year ago. Instead of telling everyone about you, if you don't mind, just kinda get everyone up speed where you came from and what you kind of do online. I think that'd be the best way for people to kind of find out about you.
Lisa: Well, I'm one of those people who always kinda have my hands on everything. I see something that looks interesting and I kinda go that direction. It's just kinda how I got into online marketing, it's how I got into the internet. It's just I see something interesting and I think I could do that, so I go off and I kinda explore what's going on. I really got into the internet first after a divorce, a few, probably like 15 years ago, 20 years ago. Gosh, I'm dating myself.
Adam: Just a couple of years ago, it's all right. I've started seeing the same face.
Lisa: Anyway, I started hanging out. Do you guys remember when AOL was king and there were like all these little local systems with local bulletin board system?
Lisa: [Inaudible 00:06:43]
Chris: Until last year?
Lisa: Well, no, I mean, it's been quite a while. Anyway, that's just kinda where I really hit the internet really hard was after that. Got into working for a company doing web mastering for a while and that kinda flung me off into doing coding. Then I've had an online store, a couple of different online stores, and so I was kind of using my coding along with some of my organizational skills to do that. Then, of course, I ran afoul with Google, and who hasn't done that at least a couple of times? So they kicked me off their ad platform, so then I had to figure out this whole SEO thing.
Adam: What was the timeframe on that? When did you start getting into SEO stuff?
Lisa: I would say that was about 2011, 2012 really because I was running a store for about five years before that and, like I said, I got kicked off. They decided they didn't like the product that I was selling and they booted me off, all my stores got booted off.
Bradley: Lisa, you said 2011 or '12ish, which is crazy, because I remember specifically buying a product that you launched with Peter Garety's help about …
Bradley: It used IFTTT and it was for triggering syndications through Google Calendar using IFTTT. It would resyndicate because you could set calendar events in the future, they would cause it to re-syndicate the video again out to the network. It was amazing training. It was right after I had learned about IFTTT, David Cossack or whatever. It was amazing training. I'll never forget that. That was around 2011, 2012, if I remember correctly.
Lisa: Yeah. I think that was probably 2012 or maybe early 2013 because I had launched something else with Peter about Pinterest. It was how to get traffic using Pinterest which was my first real product.
Bradley: That's with Peter Drew or where Peter Garety? It was Peter Garety, right?
Lisa: It was Peter Garety, yeah.
Lisa: We worked for a while. Yeah. That was actually a lot of fun. I think that may have actually been an add-on to that product, like an extra bonus training. It's funny, the thing I remember about that training is the bonus and not the original training.
Adam: I was just looking around, what's Peter Garety up to? This is a total tangent, but that's just … Yeah. He was coming out with stuff like that.
Lisa: Yeah. I think he decided that he wanted to spend a little more time with his family. As far as I know he built himself his own little shopping cart platform, kinda like Shopify. He runs that and he gets recurring from that. So you see him pop up every once in a while, in JVZoo groups and stuff like that just to say some things, but he's not really promoting really hard anymore.
Bradley: Yeah. I think before he went off the grid he was doing a lot of heavy ecomm, promoting ecomm products and stuff, so I'm assuming that that's what he went into.
Adam: That's right. DashNex. Okay. I was looking this up while we were talking. Okay. Cool. Okay. So sorry about that. We just totally went off the grill there. Okay. We're up to like 2011, 2012, you start getting into the SEO side of things, how did it go from there?
Lisa: Well, I was SEO and things so that I could get traffic for the online store that I had, I was selling jewelry parts. The stuff that I learned while I was trying to rank for things got turned around into products. So we did a curation traffic blueprint where I was teaching people how to curate content and get traffic from that, because that's so much easier than writing original content. You can do it just snap, snap, snap.
So we did that and then I started doing some keyword tools. I just sort of, actually, I think before we got to the keyword tool, the RSS authority sniper strategy that we do, that was something that we had started doing manually. My sister was acting as one of my VAs. It took a long time to do that manually. I mean, it was really effective but it took 15, 20 minutes, sometimes an hour to do that, to look up all the different feeds and then go and do all the copy-paste to put it here, put it there, all that kinda stuff. She started complaining about that, just really, she was really like …
Adam: That's a very real pain point when your sister was complaining to you.
Lisa: Yeah, I know. I'm like, “Okay, I better go code something.” That was where RSS Authority Sniper came from.
Bradley: Which, by the way, that was a great product. I was gonna say you still have Rankfeeder going right now, correct?
Lisa: Yeah, I do. I'm actually just been rewriting the whole feed generation so that I can add more features in. I've got something really neat coming out in the next month or so with Rankfeeder and then a rerelease of RSS Authority Sniper to go with it. It's gonna be the way it targets local places very, very specifically.
Bradley: Oh, man, now you're speaking our language, Lisa. Honestly, guys, we promoted Lisa's Rankfeeder before because it's the co-citation tool using RSS feeds. It's amazing. It's super, super powerful. It's very, very effective. I stand by that statement. Anything that you're gonna be doing that's gonna address local specifically, Lisa, certainly reach out to us. We will get behind that in a heartbeat because about 60% of our RSS is local.
Lisa: I think you're gonna like it because, like I said, we're gonna … Some of the stuff that I've already added in after I finished rewriting the feed generator is I've added the categories that you get to pick into so that they're actually inside the feed and all the tags also get treated as categories inside your feed. I mean, you're getting a lot more power to really target with the feed on an SEO basis, that kinda thing. Yeah. I think you're really gonna like what comes after that.
Bradley: Very cool.
Adam: Sounds awesome. Well, I wanted to make sure we have enough time to cover this. The next question I had, and I love asking this to people, is where do you see, in terms of, I'll leave this really broad, not just SEO, but where do you see either SEO or kind of online digital marketing going in the next couple of years? Then a side question of that, or somewhere else you can go with this, is what's the most important things you see happening?
Lisa: Well, this is a really interesting time for online things. You're seeing a lot of movement, different places, and you're seeing a lot of things happening that people don't necessarily like, you're seeing a lot of censorship, you're seeing a lot of kinda misrepresenting what people are saying and that kind of thing, and you're seeing Silicon Valley really go and start trying to basically meddle in society that they wanna be the … It's like the government isn't big brother anymore, but they wanna be.
I think you're gonna see, and I'm already kind of seeing movement, this is outside of Google's control and outside of Facebook's control. I think as marketers and SEO is we really need to be monitoring those additional places that are coming into the marketplace and start using those platforms and start seeing them because I think that censorship and …
I mean, Google tries to censor SEO people all the time. They try and say, “Well, we don't want you to backlink,” and “We don't want you to do this,” and “We're in control of whether you rank for anything or not.” I don't know any SEO person who actually says, “Yeah, you're right. You can have total complete control over everything I do and say.”
It's like, we find a way around. I think you're gonna see that there's gonna be as they've kinda spread out from just kind of controlling, trying to control SEOs to try and control the wider society. I think you're really gonna see that there's gonna be a lot of movement outside where people are gonna go, “Well, I think that's a little bit too far.”
Adam: Yeah, definitely. It's funny, I think me and Marco came across that article at the same time, but there's one about Tim Berners-Lee working on like a decentralized kind of protocols. I think it's called Solid through MIT. Have you heard about this?
Lisa: No, I haven't heard of that one yet.
Adam: Yeah. Just check it out afterwards. It's an interesting idea, but it's that idea of saying, “Yeah. You know what, no matter what happens, if this turns into a monopoly, which it quickly is, then that doesn't really benefit anyone.” So it was meant to be decentralized in the first place so I think, anyways, I don't know if this is gonna work, but something like that I think appeals to a lot of people.
Lisa: Yeah. You're already seeing movements. A lot of people are moving away from them as their search engine when they're doing their own personal things. I mean, I haven't used Google as my search engine when I'm actually doing research for years. I mean, I've been using DuckDuckGo, and you have places alternatives to Twitter like Gab coming up, and there's a several new video platforms coming up that now that YouTube is really kind of just really been stomping on people. Yeah. I mean …
Adam: I'm just curious, what are some of the new YouTube-, sorry, new YouTube, that's showing how well ingrained it is, what are some of the new video platforms?
Bradley: Well, Amazon Video has got to be one of them, right?
Lisa: What's that?
Bradley: Amazon Video has to be one of them, right?
Lisa: Yeah. Amazon video is a pretty good one, although they also, I don't know, I kinda think that they also have that risk of becoming more of a bully in the future.
Adam: Well, they'll just take over what you're creating and create it themselves.
Lisa: Yeah. Just like they have, like all the little online stores and that people would find a little niche and they would sell something, and then Amazon goes, “Boom. They're selling a lot of that. Let's start our own.” I mean, they've kinda done that, kind of the same way Walmart has done that to the mom-and-pop stores. Amazon is kinda doing that to the online stores.
But the one that I discovered the other day that I actually thought was pretty good was called Real Video. It's real.video. That's not real.video.com. Just the video is the root domain.
Bradley: Real like R-E-E-L or R-E-A-L?
Lisa: It's started by a guy who got deplatformed by Google. It's not a fully developed platform yet, but it seems pretty good for what he's already worked through. You have to get an invitation from them. You have to actually request to be on there, kinda like you did with Pinterest in the beginning. But the player is really nice and they've got kinda sharing capabilities and some other things. I think that's someplace that really you should look into, particularly if you're running content that maybe Google's not gonna like very much.
BitChute is another one, although I think that one's kind of not that good yet.
Adam: BitChute, got that.
Lisa: Yeah. BitChute and, I remember some of the other ones that I've looked at. As far as like Facebook, there's a really interesting new social media place called … What is it called, Minds? Minds.com.
Adam: Interesting. I have not heard … Have you guys heard of this?
Marco: Yeah, I like Minds. I'm in Minds. It's over 100 million people right now.
Adam: I should have known that, Marco.
Marco: It's basically over 100 million people. Come on.
Lisa: Yeah. They're kind of integrated with some of the blockchain payment methods and things like that, so that you can actually pay people for their content in a way that you can't really be tracked and can't really be blocked from making your payment. So there's a lot of interesting things that are going on where people are just kinda going, “I've had enough.” People are starting additional things. It's kinda like people never really thought that MySpace would ever die, but it did. I think you're probably gonna see a little bit more of that movement, away from big consolidated platforms.
Adam: Yeah, that's an interesting-
Bradley: It's gonna happen anytime … I mean, I can see some of the shifting as well, Lisa. I agree with that. Some movement, especially with the Silicon Valley stuff, which you mentioned. I mean, when Facebook and Twitter execs are being dragged up on the Capitol Hill and quite repeatedly for hours and hours and hours, you can rest assured, you can bet your ass that there's gonna be some movements, some changes made.
Lisa: Yeah. I've been shadow banned on Twitter. It's like you go and you post something that's relatively innocuous and you go and search for it, you can search for the exact text of the whole thing and it never comes up in search. That's when you know you've been shadow banned. They never tell you anything, they just want you to just assume that your message is getting out there, but they're not gonna … So, anyway.
Bradley: Yeah. Well, I think it's something that will happen. We, as marketers, are kind of on the cutting edge or of like what the shifting is, but I think the general population is much slower to react.
Lisa: That's true.
Bradley: I think we still have plenty of time to exploit what we can from the big sites.
Lisa: Absolutely. I'm just saying you gotta kinda keep your heads up and be aware that people are starting to move around a bit.
Adam: Well, in terms of what's going on right now, we touched on a little bit, so if you've got some big stuff coming out in like a month, I don't want or expect you just spill the beans right now, but you can you tell us, and if you can't, that's fine, but what it is that you're kind of working on there in a little bit more detail?
Lisa: Well, right now, most of what I've been doing for about the last six to seven weeks is really working hard on the upgrades to Rankfeeder. Now I'm doing RSS Authority Sniper 3.0. This is going to be considered a major release because it's gonna have some really nice extra features in there. That's mostly what I'm working on. Then I have some other plans for some other products after that either re-imaginings or new ones. But that's most of what's right there.
Adam: Good deal. Well, I know, like Bradley said, we'll definitely keep our ears open or rather our email inboxes open for letting us know when you got that ready. That'd be awesome because we got a lot of people who are really interested. Actually, we just had one comment here real quick. I just wanna read it to you because this is pretty awesome. Adam: That was a very nice comment from Greg. Yeah. I mean, it's good. Obviously, we promote products and services that we like and use. Definitely, yours is up there, not in our minds only, but everyone that we promoted it to has had a lot of good things to say.
Marco: Before we go, I have a question for Lisa. Something that I've been going back and forth with other people. It's more on the coding side and how you see things. The thing is that I've been asking people whether they think that Google is broken, because as you know they just write code on top of code on top of code on top of code. Now what you just said, which just struck me as very interesting, is that you're doing a complete rewrite. So would you agree or disagree that right now at that level Google is broken?
Lisa: I'm not sure that I would say that Google is broken. I mean, you gotta remember they have thousands and thousands of engineers on staff. I'm doing a total rewrite because I didn't like some of what was done by the people who wrote some of the code for me that I paid to write code for me. These are guys who were supposed to be professional and they just, there's things in there that I've just never liked and just thought, uh, that just really bothers me every time I'm in there. But to rewrite it would take so long.
But no, I don't really think Google is broken so much. It's just philosophically they've kind of shifted out of the, do you remember when their motto used to be don't be evil? Well, they seem to have totally and completely forgotten about that. I think it has really become more of a reflection of the fact that they have decided that they have some hatchets to grind and then they really just kinda wanna dominate the market and they've decided that the market also means information and what people think and-
Bradley: And they wanna control and manipulate information, which is what they do.
Lisa: It's absolutely what they do.

Is There A Need To Put A Summary For The Full-Text Option For The RSS Feed Output Of A Self Hosted WordPress Website?
Number one, we have the attribution link that is either provided by the plugin or you can code that into the IFTTT applet yourself. Either way, if you followed our training, you know that the attribution link is critically important if you're gonna be syndicating the full text of the post. Number two, is if you're using our standard Syndication Network setup, there's only three blog sites that we're syndicating to. So there's only three sites to get the full-text post anyways, right? That's Blogger, Tumblr and WordPress. So it's not an issue.
Essentially, I always like to leave full text posts because, again, it's only being syndicated to really three sites that will republish the entire post anyways. The key is to be using the internal link from within the post itself from your main blog to be linking to the pages of the landing pages that you're trying to rank. By publishing the full text of the post that internal link from within the body, the post body of the blog post itself, will also be published on the blog sites. Right? So Blogger, Tumblr, WordPress. So you get a little bit of additional links, in other words, built back to your original post and also to the page that you're promoting within the post, if that makes sense.
However, if you want to just go summary, that's perfectly fine. I prefer the full post method. But you can go with the summary method, just know that you will lose a little bit of SEO value to your internal page that you're ultimately trying to promote. Because when you syndicate just the summary of the post you will get a link back to the post itself but you won't get any of the internal links that we're within the post body, if that makes sense. Which is still fine because now you're funneling link juice or link equity back to that post, the original post, anyways, which will contain the internal link up to the page that you're trying to promote.
Again, it's 6 and 1/2 dozen in the other really. I prefer the full-text post because it looks less spammy on the blog sites. Think about it, summary posts on blog sites, guys, look spammy because it's just usually a paragraph or a set number of characters and then it's just a dot dot dot or read more or whatever. So in my opinion, on my branded blog syndication sites, which would be Blogger, Tumblr, WordPress, I want the full text post so that it doesn't look spammy. I want it to look nice, right? That's part of the reason why I like the full text post. But again, it's a personal preference, it's not gonna hurt you either way.
Can We Connect DFY IFTTT To GMB RSS Following The Local Lease Pro (LLP) Posting System?
Anybody wanna comment on that? Okay. Peter's up. He says, “Hey. Can we connect Done-For-You IFTTT to GMB RSS following the LLP posting system?” Yes, you can, Peter. I may be doing an additional training video on-, well, not maybe, at some point, probably after or after POFU Live, I'm gonna be doing some updated training for Local Lease Pro members. I'll probably just host a webinar, guys, and invite all the Local Lease Pro members. I'm gonna be talking about some other stuff. I'm working on some other methods right now to push the GMB Maps listings into the 3-pack if they don't appear in there initially from just the initial set up, which is really what the Local Lease Pro method is all about: finding those easy opportunities and securing them with little to no work.
However, there are gonna be some that you're going to attempt that aren't going to rank right away. But don't abandon those, you can certainly get them to produce results or generate leads, but they're gonna need a little bit of additional work. So that's some of the stuff that I'm gonna be covering in update webinar. It will likely be in November before that's available though, guys, because we got a ton other stuff we're working on at the moment.
I'm still testing some new methods too. I can tell you one thing I'm really excited about. Lisa's product coming out because I guarantee you Lisa's product would work very, very well with this Local Lease Pro method since we're gonna be able to use the RSS feeds from the GMB Autoposter to connect with Rankfeeder and create co-citation. I can see that being very, very powerful. So when Lisa's product is ready, I will certainly look into that as part of the Local Lease Pro method as well. Okay.
Again, guys, I don't mean to be hard on you, Nexxus Designs, but that comes up all the time. All of that is covered because this question comes up a lot. Don't worry about duplicate content. If duplicate content were a thing on external domains, Press Releases wouldn't work. We all know that Press Releases work incredibly well, so explain that. Right?

However, you could always post your request in one of our groups that you're a member of and see if there are any takers that you could chat with about potentially providing SEO services for you.
Hernan: Yeah. Actually, in our Mastermind, there are some people that have their own agencies. So if you're part of that, you can post there and some Mastermind units will actually pass on work from one to the next and to each other because they're either swarm or that's not their style, there's something else that they're doing and whatnot. So that's a pretty cool community over there.
Bradley: Yeah. I mean, even on the free group, Facebook group, you could still post and there will be … Just be aware that we are not vouching for anybody that you communicate with. In the Mastermind, that'd be a different story, but in any of our other groups, you have to vet anybody that responds to your request. You have to vet them on your own, okay? There's nothing that we can do to help you with that and I apologize.
But, yeah, again, for IFTTT network stuff management, SERP space has a manager. It's a basic manager that basically monitors the networks to make sure that properties aren't down, it'll alert you if RSS feed stop detecting new items, things like that. That's over at Serpspace.com. That's the network management. You can check that out too, if you'd like. Again, that's just a very simple service. It's more of a monitoring service than a management service. It's beneficial when you've got a bunch of networks to maintain.
What Changes Should We Expect To The IFTTT Method Once Google Plus Shuts Down?
Chris Hayes says, “What kind of changes will happen in the IFTTT method once G+ shuts down? Can you guys make a video update?” Yeah, of course, we do. But I mean, it's just one channel that gets shut down. It's not really gonna affect much at all. I mean, G+ is being terminated. We see more evidence of that now than ever. Almost daily we're seeing more and more evidence of that. I just saw an article posted recently in one of our groups about even more steps that Google's taking to remove or to completely shut down Google Plus. But it's only one property, Chris. Don't worry about it. It's one property out of what, two dozen? It's not that big of an issue. I wouldn't sweat it too much.
Will we create an update video? Yeah, sure. I mean, we do update webinars, although we're gonna be probably shifting or changing how that's handled too. But anyways, in one of the upcoming update webinars, we will discuss that a little bit more. In fact, I'm gonna make a note of that right now.
Marco: Yeah. While you're making a note, let me just say that there's plenty more Google properties that we can abuse besides Google Plus, which we do. If you're a part of RYS Reloaded you know just how many properties we go into and just totally hammer away at Google.
When Will You Add Citations Lessons In Local Lease Pro?

Is It Still Worth The Time To Keep Using Rank Feeder For Co-Citation Now That Google Plus Is Shutting Down?
I mean, there's still plenty of other RSS options out there. Remember, with Rankfeeder, those of you that are familiar with it, you can also add sticky items which aren't even RSS feeds, they're just singular-, excuse me, single URLs and you can add those as sticky items to blend in with the overall feed to create that additional co-citation. Again, Google Plus is just one of many different things that you could include into Rankfeeder.
Lisa, do you wanna mention something about that?
Lisa: Yeah. Actually, if you are using some of the Google Plus feeds in some way, what happens when a feed disappears is that Rankfeeder just starts ignoring it. If it ignores it a certain number of times, like for a long period, then it will just be removed. But since you can go in and edit your feeds, they're not one-shot and you're stuck with whatever you put in there, you can also go and replace the missing Google Plus RSS feeds with other things.
Bradley: There you go.
Lisa: You can completely update it and you keep them fresh and relevant with the same URLs that were generating power for you up till that point.
Bradley: Kay Dee, a couple of options would be Google Plus-, or excuse me, Google sites, also the GMB, if you're using Google My Business stuff, it's for local, if you're using our autoposter, which generates a RSS feed from the GMB posts, that's something else that you can include. There's a lot of snazzy stuff that you can do with it. So Google Plus, G+ was just a one piece of many that go into that. I wouldn't worry about it, guys. Google Plus is not that big of a deal that it's shutting down. That's the nature of the internet marketing world, right?
Lisa: Yeah. I think it's really a relative nothing in terms of never really … I know a lot of people hopped on there to try and get SEO benefits from it because, as we all know, that Google favors their own properties. But as far as being a real social network, I don't think it ever really caught fire and really caught on. I think that's why they're dumping it. I'm kinda surprised they didn't dump it sooner because it just didn't do that well.
Bradley: Yeah. It's interesting. I remember all the way back in, I think 2010, '11, when I started my career in digital marketing that Google Plus, I remember articles coming out all the time, the big curated SEO sites like Search Engine Journal and all those sites, and also like social media examiner and all that, all the time I remember articles coming out saying, “Google Plus is dead,” “Google's killing Google Plus,” this and that.
For years I've seen articles like that. I used to laugh at it because for a while there Google Plus was so integrated into all of Google's products and it was really as part of the onset of the semantic web. When Google started to adapt semantic web technology and I think they were using Google Plus as kind of a identity validator. Right? It was a way to associate a profile with an individual, like a Google account with an individual, and then that way it would attach that profile or identify that person as being real because that Google Plus was now integrated with all of other Google's products. I think it was a way to, originally, was to kind of reduce spam, believe it or not.
I didn't think that they were ever going to shut it down. But apparently after just being beaten to death in the social media world by all the other platforms for so many years, Google finally decided to remove it. They've been taking steps for, what, the last year and a half, two years. I think it really started when they pulled Google Plus out of YouTube, when they disintegrated or when they pulled Google Plus out of YouTube. Remember, guys, in order to have a YouTube channel, you have to have a Google Plus account. I think when they separated those two is really the start of the demise of Google Plus. Anyways, that was a good question.
Does A Google Site Created Through The GMB Profile Show Up In The Organic Search Results Or Is Only Accessible Via The GMB Profile?
In either case, they're available and they're both indexable which means they're public. Publicly viewable to anybody, right? GMB websites as well as Google sites, sites.google.com are both indexable so anybody can see them. You don't have to be logged in through a profile to see them, unless they're just not indexed yet. But just be patient, the windex provided you guys some content on there and they'll be fine.
Marco: The business site indexes within an hour.
Bradley: Yeah. The business site index is really quick, yeah.
Marco: And it does rank.
Marco: There's things that you have to do to make it rank, which is taught in Local GMB Pro or you can just go and ask me in Local GMB Pro how to get that website to show up and rank. But I mean, it does. It's a great asset.
Bradley: I'm curious because I haven't worked on this project in months. Yeah. Right there, it's Mario's-, excuse me, right there, it's the business site for, this was the case study I did for Local GMB Pro and that's the business site right there. That's the GMB website right there, guys, and it's ranked number two for the brand search. See that? Yelp outranks the brand search, that's crazy. But there you go, business site right there. So, yes, it will rank.
Does Google Ranks Mobile Responsive And Stand Alone Mobile Specific Site Differently?
Number two, “For ranking purposes, does Google look differently at mobile responsive site and a standalone mobile-specific site? If you're targeting mobile searches only, can you rank in standalone mobile-specific site without forwarding a desktop site?” Yeah, you can. I don't know. Marco might know this. But does Google look at differently between mobile responsive and standalone mobile specific sites? I don't know. I know that a lot of responsive sites like WordPress themes that are responsive WordPress themes are coded really shitty. They suck and they're terrible for the mobile algorithm, a lot of them are. They might say that they're mobile-friendly, but they're just coded really poorly. Again, I'm not a coder so I don't understand any of that stuff, I just know that some of those mobile responsive WordPress themes suck in the mobile first index, they don't perform well.
In the past, I would create just an HTML landing page as a mobile and put it on an M-dot subdomain and then use a redirect script, a PHP redirect script to point any mobile browsers to the HTML mobile page. But I've even stopped doing that because, honestly, I'm not even really building, I'm doing everything in GMB now, which is all GMB code and it's all mobile responsive and mobile-friendly and everything else. I'm not even building WordPress sites at the moment.
Marco, what can you say about that?
Marco: I'm with you. I haven't built a WordPress site in quite a while. Mobile responsive versus standalone, I would think that there would be no difference as long as they're mobile responsive. Check it and make sure that it is actually mobile responsive and that it validates. Right? Other than that, I'm sorry, but dude, we're doing everything inside the Google My Business-
Bradley: Or Google, period. Like sites.google.com, those are mobile responsive now, especially the new ones. They look great too.
Marco: The classic were also responsive. All you had to do was take a box while you were working on it to make it mobile-friendly.
Bradley: Yeah. That's it. Guys, I'm not trying to discourage you from creating WordPress sites. I just, honestly, I'm building my business completely within Google right now, just because they're free, number one; number two, it's easy and fast. As long as it's working I'm gonna do it. I can always go back to WordPress as needed. There's a lot of headaches that come along with working in WordPress, like all the stupid updates and hosting issues. It's just a lot of stuff that I'm so glad I'm not having to build a bunch of WordPress sites right now. It's been refreshing.
Is It True That Google's Recent Change On Mobile First Indexing Affects Ranking?
But if you're using stuff that is responsive and it passes like that, there's even a tool that Google has for testing that, then you shouldn't really have an issue. Right? I mean, at least that's what I found. What I found was really interesting is you said it doesn't change the fact rankings, it doesn't change or affect ranking much.
But what we've been finding, especially because of the GMB stuff that we've been doing inside of Google My Business, is that we're really speaking directly to the mobile algorithm with GMB posts and all the stuff that we're doing with proximity and geolocation and all of that stuff is speaking directly to the mobile first algorithm, which is awesome because we're able to get results even if they're ranking, and I'm using air quotes, doesn't show that we're ranking well, we're still able to generate clicks to the website and calls, generate leads essentially, from stuff that the rank trackers are showing aren't ranking well. So explain that.
Well, that's because we're tickling the mobile-first index. That's what Marco calls “the google tickle.” Right? That's one of many that we have. But that's exactly what we're doing, is because we're using geolocation and proximity and all of that stuff to be able to serve our content directly to mobile searchers in the area where they're searching. Again, that has to do with the mobile first index.
Guys, this has opened up so much opportunity, in my opinion, since the end of July when this was really rolled out. We've been reaping the benefits of these opportunities for the GMB Pro method and Local Lease Pro method now for the last few months, last couple of months. It's awesome because, as I've mentioned on previous Hump Day Hangouts, guys, I used to always just target my primary keywords for local stuff plus local modifiers. In other words, it would be whatever the service or product was plus the local modifier.
That's always how I optimize for everything up until this summer. Now I'm optimizing for just the general product or service keywords and I'm getting crazy results. I'm generating more leads now than ever because we're able to get those short tail search queries, we're able to get results and get traffic from those because we're talking directly to the mobile first algorithm.
People that are searching for mobile, typically, unless they're searching for a product or service outside of where they're located, like in another area that they're going to be going to, typically, people when they start to search for a product or service from a mobile device, they'll start typing their query and then they're just gonna hit whatever the suggested phrase pops up that Google suggested to them that's closest to their intended query. Most of the time Google is going to suggest without local modifiers. So that's what they're tapping on now and that's what our content is optimized for those terms without the local modifier because of where we're publishing the content is within close proximity to that searcher. Right?
Again, it's a little bit more advanced than what we typically cover on Hump Day Hangouts, but it works really, really well. If you're basing any of your tracking now on any desktop, laptop search result stuff, guys, stop it. Okay? Stop it. Just be paying attention to mobile stuff. That's why part of the reason I always talk about using Google Ads ad preview and diagnosis tool because then you can go in and actually set a location. Within Google, you can specify a location and then do a search there and you will see what the search results should look like to somebody in that specific location. You can't really do that with rank trackers anymore.
Okay. Anyways, that was a good question, Gordon. Go ahead.
Marco: Let me just add that we keep seeing a direct correlation between activity in the Google My Business listing through everything we do through Local GMB Pro. Everything that we teach inside Local GMB Pro, there's a direct correlation with activity, and then even in organic, it brings up the organic rankings.
Marco: I mean, you can see it. You'll see the amount of keywords that you're ranking for blow up in search console. To the point where you're ranking for hundreds of keywords that you never thought would be attainable and all of a sudden that's right there. If you just look at organic, you would never know how that was done, but we know that we're doing all of the work in the Google My Business listing.
Bradley: Yeah. One of the other things I wanna mention is, and we've kind of talked about this in some of our other groups, guys, but I don't want to give out too much, but this is a nice little nugget. Guys, go into your GMB Insights. For those of you doing local, which again it's most of you, go into GMB Insights and take a look at the search queries that have brought engagement to your listing, and extract those search queries that are relevant, which most of them will.
By the way, you're gonna see a lot of near me and near my location and stuff like that type of keywords right now. I mean, that's why it's all mobile stuff, guys. It's all mobile search stuff. If you extract those keywords from the GMB Insights report that are relevant and start promoting those in GMB posts and content, then you'll start getting more and more traffic for those. It's crazy. It's like Google tells you which keywords are bringing you traffic and then you promote those keywords and it brings you so much more. It's crazy. It's just like Google's giving you the keys to the kingdom right now, guys.
Again, I don't know how long it's gonna last, but while it does exploit it. Okay. Jordan. What's up, Jordan? He says, “Is anyone here an Amazon SEO guru?” I am not. Hernan: Okay. Well, I mean, in the Syndication Academy group, maybe you can find somebody.
Bradley: Yeah. I was going to ask Lisa if she had any advice on ecommerce SEO or Amazon SEO.
Lisa: Well, just make sure you're in a cart that is friendly to SEO URLs. Also, one thing that I found when I was doing my store, now I've sold my store several years ago to somebody else, but one thing that I did find is that the RSS for products actually will help boost the products quite a bit. So if you have, make sure you get a cart that has the ability to have RSS feeds for product categories. Then go and submit those feeds to all kinds of different aggregators, you'll get quite a boost. I mean, it was really amazing what we found when I had a VA doing that for me.
Greg, first of all, don't worry about it. Most of them are probably indexed, they're just in the supplemental index, because that's the nature of Press Releases. Because it's the same content, right? Guys, don't associate duplicate content penalties with this, with what I'm talking about here because that's not the case. But if a press release which is republished word-for-word across hundreds of sites, Google will take those and many of them and put them in what's called the Supplemental Index.
I'm going to show you exactly what I mean here to demonstrate. Okay? Right here, this is press release title that I just had published for the project that I built out for the Local Lease Pro training. Okay. This was just published, well, just a few days ago, anyways. You can see that I just did a search for the title, which is showing digital journal here, right? So this was just published, I don't know, just a couple days ago. Anyways, you can see that that's the full title of it, right? That's what's showing digital journal. It's the only one that's indexed on this page.
But if you look down at the bottom where it says “In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the six already displayed.” Well, I don't see six displayed, I see one, unless they're talking about five images here, which they might be. Yeah, I guess they are, because the rest of those are ads.
But if you take a look and click on the Supplemental Index, all of a sudden here it shows up, there's five of them that are showing as indexed. By the way, that's why, this was just published 12 hours ago. That's why not all of them have even been indexed yet. So if we were to come back and search this again in another 24 hours, it's likely that there will be dozens and dozens of results. They're probably still gonna be hidden behind the Supplemental Index, you have to click that link at the bottom to see all of them. But what happens is you end up with most of that.
Now again, don't worry about getting them indexed, Greg, you'll drive yourself absolutely crazy if every time you submit a press release you go collect all the links from the report and then submit them to indexers. That's a lot of additional work. Don't worry about it. Those news sites get crawled often by Google, they will get indexed. Whether they show or they're put in the Supplemental Index, it doesn't matter, Google knows about them. Trust me. So don't worry about that because you're just adding additional work, you're over-complicating, which you don't need to.
Okay? I'm not picking on you at all, Greg. I understand why you may worry about that. But a lot of people have asked us questions about Syndication Networks and the links not being indexed. But if you go in the search console and you look at links to your site, you'll see WordPress, and Tumblr, and Diigo, and all the sites within the syndication network do have backlinks pointed to the site, and Google knows about them. Whether they're indexed or not, it doesn't matter, Google knows about them and is giving you credit for them. We've even tested no index PBNs, guys, and it's worked. It's given us boosts.
Again, don't worry about that, you'll drive yourself crazy, Greg. All right. We've only got about five more minutes, guys. I do have to leave pretty much on time today. So we're gonna try to roll through just a couple more questions.
Marco: It's not only the replay, I'm putting everything together. Right? I have to put together all of the training, the video that I did showing, well, you know what it does, from S3 to CloudFlare. I'm also giving them tutorials for CloudFlare and S3 buckets. I'm trying to put everything together. It doesn't help when I have people reaching out to me. The video was still, I think I told you guys, it was rendering and people were already reaching out to me for the replay webinar. It doesn't help, guys. It'll get done when it gets done. As soon as it gets done, it'll be made available.
Bradley: Scott. “Finally got a plumbing client onboard for GMB account that was set up with your service. The account was sitting just outside the 3-pack when it was first verified. Now in the 3-pack with just a small amount of effort after week one. Location population for a city of 125K. Thanks, guys.” That's freaking awesome, Scott. I love that you posted that. That's amazing. Guys, I mean, it's crazy, even the site that I just was showing you guys, the press release for Mustang 3 pros, I just set that up last week, and 12 hours ago, the press release was published and I'm sitting in the number four position right now, if I do a localized search, like I said, using …
Anyways, my point is, guys, it's sitting in position number four and I still haven't done citations to it yet, I haven't really done any GMB posts other than the original post that I did. So I mean all the stuff that I teach in Local Lease Pro, guys, hasn't even been applied to that yet and I'm already in the number four position in maps. So think about that. Scott is just validating what I've been talking about, guys. You do the research properly on the front-end and then you optimize the profile when you first set it up, or get it back from us if you're using our service.
So far, about 60% of the time, for me, that's all it takes to get into the 3-pack. Doing the other stuff that I'm doing right now, which is the GMB posts press releases, and then monthly citations, I'm seeing like almost, out of the remaining 40%, another 15 to 20% of those within the first seven days get pushed into the 3-pack. The remaining ones that aren't pushed into the 3-pack, it just requires a little more of the same. Just more of the same, so more GMB posts, perhaps another press release, perhaps another month of citation building, something like that. Right? That's all it takes.
We're also working on some additional methods right now, guys, for pushing those listings that aren't popping into the 3-pack. Yeah. I'm working on some other methods too and I'll update you guys on that probably in November. All right.
Is There Any Limit On The Number Of Links You Can Throw At An RYS Project And Not Get Penalized?
Bradley: Okay. Number two, “Also, even though my client already has one RYS project produced, is there an additional benefit to doing another and another or should we just be beating the shit out of the one that's already done?” No. There is benefit, Jeff. It just depends. It really depends on what your setup is and your configuration, your site structure, all that kind of stuff. Marco, what would you suggest?
Marco: I would suggest that, if he's a member of RYS Academy Reloaded, that he reaches out to me in there because we did a webinar telling you exactly what you need to do with that one drive stack and how to power it up to get even more power out of it, and just continue getting power out of that same stack.

On to more important announcements, not about my headphones. I wanted to let everybody know, hopefully by the end of this Hump Day Hangout we'll have a link for you guys, we're busy getting it setup, because we just confirmed with Pavel, and I just missed out on the topic, real quick, because I was busy doing the background stuff. Bradley, do you want to tell them what the webinar this Monday is going to be about?
Bradley: Site Whizz. Apparently, he's got another application that he built specifically for PBN stuff, but I can tell you I'm super freaking impressed with Rank Whizz and Pavel from the webinar that we had this week, on Monday. I mean, the guy really knows his stuff, and you can tell, and because of that the tool is super powerful, and from some of our Mastermind members that were commenting on a thread in the Mastermind about it, they were saying that it is indeed a very powerful tool. There is a bit of a learning curve, though. My point is after going through the training webinar with Pavel on Monday, and seeing what Rank Whizz does, and seeing how so many other tools that are kind of like duct taped together, you know, everybody has different tools to do different things, so many of that can be consolidated under one dashboard.
It makes sense to take the time to learn it, now honestly, I'll be 100% transparent, I don't run tools like that. I've hired people years ago to start doing that for me, because it's not something I had any desire to do. We're probably going to be and in fact, I've already talked to our link building manager, Deady, about hiring, or signing somebody to us to run Rank Whizz, specifically, because of some of the incredible stuff it can do. So, anyways, that said, if you haven't seen that webinar go watch it and then the Site Whizz webinar, I can only imagine is equally as impressive, because of how much development, and care, and thought that Pavel put into the Rank Whizz. I'm really super excited to see what it does, because I'm clueless as to what Site Whizz does, so this is going to be 100% new to me, as well, but I'm really anxious to see it, so I encourage you guys to sign up or register for the webinar on Monday and attend.
Marco: What really drew my attention was that he actually talked about what I call the three elements, or the three components that a link must have to be considered good. Right? Which is relevancy, activity, and trust and authority, not necessarily in that order, but I mean he's one of the few people that I know, Mike Pierce is another, and you guys know that to me he is by far the best technical SEO, anywhere, but for someone else to talk about it, and to know, and to understand the concepts, to me, that says it all, because he actually understands where Google is and the W3C are trying to take the semantic web, where everything is headed. So, if he understands what the future is then he's already planning ahead, which is where everybody should be going. You never want to be reactive. Right? To search engines and upgrades. You always want to be proactive-
Marco: You always want to be in there, and you want to be ahead of the curve.

Marco: When we get new people, we get the same question a lot of times over and over, and over, and I understand that we have new people coming in that will ask the same questions. Please, if you are new don't think that we're treating you like you are new, like you're dumb, like you don't know what you're talking about, this forum, or what we do on Hump Day Hangouts is just for that, we don't want you to feel bad. Please, ask your questions, if we say to go to whatever source, it's because the answer is there. Decreasing Rankings Of A T1 Branded Ring Powered By PBNs
Now, hold on a minute, let me rephrase this, if it's just a tier one branded ring, I've never seen any issues, whatsoever. I've not experienced this. Now, with multiple syndication networks connected to a website, for blog syndication, and this is precisely why I talk about, throughout the training, and throughout so many Hump Day Hangouts, about not connecting multiple syndication rings to a blog, for blog syndication, because I have had, I've gotten slapped from that before and it's because of unnatural link profile, I've been slapped various ways. I've had algorithmic slaps, and I've had manual penalties, as well. Both, from connecting too many syndication networks to a blog, but that is precisely why we talk about primarily just using a tier one branded ring. If you're going to use tier two, and I know Aussie, you're not saying that you use tier two, but I'm just explaining this for the benefit of other people, as well, in part for why I don't use multiple or tiered rings for blog syndication.
If you're going to be using tiered rings, though, however, or syndication networks you want to add additional related content feeds, or sources, triggers, into the second tier networks to try to mask or hide footprint as much as possible. Remember, you're not trying to hide a footprint on your branded ring, you're trying to claim it. You're trying to announce to the world that this is you on all these different locations, or this is your brand, or whatever. I've never experienced that, what you're talking about here from a branded ring, but that's also because, and Aussie, I don't know what kind of content you're publishing from your blog, so what I'm saying is if you're publishing content from your main blog that's syndicating to your ring, and you're doing automated content, or positing maybe too frequently, or I don't know what could cause that, but I know that there could be content issues that are causing that problem, as well, and it's not necessarily from the syndication network. There's some variables that I'm unaware of, here, from this one line, or two little sentences here isn't enough detail for me to be able to make an educated guess as to what the problem is, other than it may be a content issue with what you're posting from the blog, if that makes sense. Marco, or Adam, I guess, have you guys ever had any experience with this?
Marco: I'm looking at this and he says he has RYS starter, now, what he could be experiencing is the Google dance, we covered this before, and I just dropped the link at the top, so that he can go and take a look at it, I don't know how long it's been since he did this. Sometimes they disappear. It doesn't mean that you got Google slapped. It just means that they're dancing, and they'll eventually come back, you wait 21 days until the Google dance has cleared, and then you go take a look at your ranking. You cannot SERP watch or you'll drive yourself nuts-
Marco: Watching it go up and down. It goes up and down, up and down. Then, eventually after that period it's like a probationary period. Right? Where if you go and do anything, they extend it to, I think it's either 60 or 80 days and if you do anything within that period then you can get permanently sand boxed, so I would say just relax, let it sit, let it stew, and see if it starts coming back. In the meantime, he can be looking at other things, whether he's doing multiple posting, whether he has a multi tiered ring, which is not necessary for most keywords, but I see that, and if he did that, and if he powered it up, meaning if he built links to tier one and RYS it will dance, but it will come back and it will come back better than ever, if you leave it alone for the period of time that the Google dance requires, it's riding the patent.
Bradley: Yeah. See, Aussie, I've got, I mean, I literally have websites and some clients, some are my own that I've had syndication networks around since 2012, and literally have thousands of links from WordPress and thousands of links from blog spot, or blogger, and Tumblr, and that kind of thing in search console, and never once have they ever been slapped. I cannot see it having anything to with the syndication network, unless there was a problem with the content, again, that you're publishing. If it scrapped content, spun content, stuff like that, that could cause problems, and there's no question.
Also, it could be if you're using tiered networks, like I said, and you're not masking or hiding your footprint, properly. That could also cause issues, but again, if you want to contact somebody, you could reach out to us in support, and if you're in the Mastermind, we can provide, of course, support within the Mastermind, but if not it might, you might have to schedule with someone on one consulting time, but you can always send in a support ticket and propose what it is you need help with and we can figure out what the best course of action for you would be. Proxies When Creating Branded IFTTT Networks For Clients
All right. David's up, he says, “Same question as last week, tech glitch pause, if I'm creating branded IFTTT networks for clients, do I need proxies?” Okay, David. No. Yes and no. No, if you are limiting how many accounts you create. Let's put it this way, when you go to start creating an account, or a network, you're going to create a profile in a new Google account, and then you're going to use that Google account to create the profile or the accounts on all the other network sites, network properties, Tumblr, WordPress, Gravatar, all that stuff. Right? That's basically one account set, so as long as you're only doing one or no more than two account sets in any 24 hour period, then you should be okay.
However, if you're building for clients, I recommend having a minimum of five or just a handful, I mean, typically I always just start off with five proxies, dedicated proxies. The reason why is, because if you're building them, which by the way, David, you shouldn't be building them, honestly, you really shouldn't be, but if you plan on doing it anyways, because you can outsource this kind of work, man, for a hell of a lot less than what your time is worth, I can tell you that. But, if you are planning on doing it, anyways, then I recommend just getting five dedicated proxies it will cost you like 10 bucks a month, man. Then, that way you have basically cycled through the proxies. In other words, if on Monday you start to create one account set with proxy number one, then on Tuesday create your next account set proxy number two, and by the time you get to Saturday, you cycle back up to proxy number one. Does that make sense?
Just, in other words, that way you're spreading out new account sets per IP, so that you're not, if you use just your own IP, and you're creating a new account set, every day, at some point, I don't know what the threshold is, but at some point, you're probably going to have your IP flagged, by if not Google, by some of the other web two properties. I recommend that you always use, you know, you can use a VPN. I particularly don't like to use VPN's, because those are shared IP's, even though a lot of them have big pools of IP's now, I still don't like to use them, because they're shared. I prefer dedicated proxies, because then I know they're clean. Okay. Again, I highly recommend that you're going to do it, and also, David, if you're going to be building networks and using proxies then to make your life a hell a lot easier I recommend that you pick up Browseo. Right now, Browseo, now has a monthly option it's like 37 bucks a month.
The amount of headache that it will save you to be able to use Browseo and have multiple browsing sessions open using different proxies for different profiles and all that kind of stuff, the speed with which you're able to accomplish your tasks by having that ability, or that function available is unbelievable. Right? It's amazing. I've got Browseo open right now. I mean, I got it open all the time, now, because it's just so freaking amazing. So, I highly recommend that you use that, as well, it's going to make you a lot more efficient. As I mentioned, before, I certainly recommend, David, that you only build a few networks to get the hang of it and then outsource it. You can buy them from us, or you can hire your own virtual assistant, and put them through the training, and have them build so that you have an in house builder, that's going to be your best option, you'll make the most money that way, if you create your own in house builder, or excuse me, train your own in house builder. All right.
Marco: No. I totally agree. No. We usually order IFTTT and RYS as soon as we get-
Bradley: The network back.
Marco: The verification from Google.
Marco: As soon as the verification, then we have that NAP, the way that it's set in Google, that's how it's going everywhere else that we have it. I mean, I trained Justin, and I continuously go back and forth with him, he's our RYS VA, he knows exactly what to do, how to hook everything up, so that you guys don't have to do it. If you want to go through it, then the place for the training is RYS Academy. Otherwise, you're left guessing on how everything is done.
Bradley: Yeah. All right. Hopefully, that helps, David. Yeah. The same order that whenever, I agree with Marco, if it's going to be for a local business, it has an NAP, you're going to want to wait until you have a verified address, and you probably already do, but if not, if it's a new listing, a new business, then yeah, wait until you get the Google My Business page verified, so that then you have the NAP exactly as it's listed in Google. I totally agree with that. Typically, what I'll do with a new property is order the network, build the site, while the network is being built.
My curator, somebody from, one of my curators, will end up creating content for me like having at least a minimum of three curated posts ready to go, so that when the site is built, and the network has been connected, then I go in and publish those three posts. I'll drip them out, over a course of a week, or so, and then from there I'll order the, excuse me, the drive stack, and then I'll order a press release, and then I'll order the first batch of citations. That's pretty much the exact same process that I go through for every single new site that I launch, or even a site that's an existing site and I'm taking a new client or something like that, that's the same process I have to go through, is still sitting up the network first, and having content produced while the network is being set up and all that kind of stuff. It's the exact same timeline that I always use. Just because it works. There's no reason, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Adam: Description about what the video is about, is it actually the video description?
Bradley: It's a transcript and a description. Probably like a summary, maybe, is what the description is.
Marco: I mean, is the description being taken word for word from the video description?
Bradley: You mean, from the video description in YouTube?
Bradley: Yeah. That can cause problems, Ryan. Good point, Marco. I don't know that, that's the case, Ryan, but if you are, here's the thing, though, if you're adding the transcription to the post, then that should make it unique enough, I mean, again, this is just speculative, but my experience with having video pages de-indexed, and I'm not talking about the videos themselves, I'm assuming the YouTube videos are still indexed, but the video pages on your site are being de-indexed, or falling out of the index, that doesn't necessarily mean that they've been de-indexed. Right? De-indexed connotes like a penalty, but falling out of the index doesn't necessarily, like that's just a Google dance. Right? My point, Ryan, what I'm trying to get at is whenever I was doing a lot of video syndication networks, what I used to call broadcasting networks, which is I'd have self hosted WordPress sites with IFTTT syndication networks around those sites, and then when I would publish a video to a YouTube channel I'd have YouTube connected as a trigger to self hosted WordPress sites. I used to use a plugin to do that, but then I just switched it over to using IFTTT, and YouTube to WordPress. You can do that for self hosted sites, by the way.
Anyways, whenever I would have the applet set up at the time, they were called recipes, but the applets within the description, we always just talk about pasting the embed code, and a link to the video, and you can either do a naked URL, or an anchored text URL to the actual YouTube video itself, and then a link back to the channel and if that's why our applets are set up the way that they are, because when I had those video broadcasting networks and I was auto syndicating videos to them any time I uploaded a video to a channel, any of those WordPress sites, those self hosted WordPress sites that imported the description, so remember that's a token, a token inside of IFTTT that you can add, or what they call an ingredient.
You can add the description ingredient. Every single one of the sites that I had auto syndicated videos to that imported the description got de-indexed. Every single one of them. All the sites that I had didn't import the video description from YouTube, didn't get de-indexed. That very well could be it, is if you are importing, although, like I said, at least without testing this I would think that if you had the transcription in the blog post, but not in the video description on YouTube, that, that would make that blog post unique enough that it wouldn't be de-indexed, but maybe it is causing an issue. That's the only thing I can think of at this time. I mean, what other ideas could there be, Marco, anything else?
Marco: I would use video schema.
Bradley: You could do that.
Marco: I would use it totally, just to solidify it at the entity level. Right? At the coding level. I'd post the URL to Sistrix, which is really, really good about giving you some great video markup for rich snippets, and that might help. Everything tried first, get rid of the description, see what happens, and then mark them up.
Marco: Use the schema generator that I posted and see what happens. Come back and let us know.
Bradley: Yeah. That could help. Wrapping those videos and video object markup could probably help, too, so let us know, Ryan, how that goes. Then, also, again, I'm curious to find out if that's what you're doing is importing the video descriptions, too, because if so, what I would recommend is omitting the video descriptions if it's the same as what they are on YouTube, and then just using the transcription and that's it.
Live Rank Sniper Vs Tube Rocket (Rocket Video Ranker Pro)
He says, “I understand that Tube Rocket can make the videos unique, but if possible, how would I get them into the spots created by LRS, since it requires live stream, not just a video upload?” Okay. First of all, Kurt, yes, you can use Live Rank Sniper to stream a video into the scheduled live event, because those are essentially just place holders. Right? The schedule of live events are just place holders, however, the problem, and it's not a problem, but the drawback of using Live Rank Sniper to stream to those scheduled live events is that it's a slow process, because you have to open up Live Rank Sniper, it's only a couple of clicks of a mouse, guys, it's not like it's difficult, it's very simple to do, but it's a slow process, because you have to allow the software to start the stream.
You click the upload or whatever, you click the tab, and then you go navigate to the file on your hard drive, click it, and then you tell it to start streaming, and it basically, you just wait for it to go through the process of firing up the live stream, starts to stream it, and then it closes it down, and all that. So, it's a manual process, and my point was if you've poked a 100 keywords and you got 40 of them that are ranking on page one and/or page two, and you want to go upload, that's a long time. A lot of time that you're going to have to sit there and click the mouse a few times to get it to stream, it's just going to take you a ton of time, Kurt. You can absolutely do that, there's no problem. It's just personally, it's not efficient, for me, so I wouldn't recommend doing that. You know, there is, Peter Drew, excuse me, I was drawing a blank, Peter Drew has Hangout Millionaire, which would integrate very, very well with Live Rank Sniper, because they're from the same developer. They have the same interface and that kind of stuff.
I'm fairly certain that Hangout Millionaire can actually stream into those scheduled live events. That will automate the process, so that you don't have to manually start every single stream. If you want to use the pre-scheduled events that are already ranking, then I would recommend that you upgrade to Hangout Millionaire, and use that. Okay? That's the reason why I say that is because you've already got the place holders in place, and I'm fairly sure that Hangout Millionaire is able to stream to those scheduled live events, but you might have to check with Peter Drew and support first prior to signing up for that. Where Rocket Video Ranker, Tube Authority Rocket, they're one and the same, really, shines is that it basically uploads videos and it uses that very unique process where it sets everything to private, and then you go in and turn them all public at the same time, and it just seems to work.
Again, I don't know why it works, but it works. So, as long as it's working, it's something that can be exploited, and I've used it a lot, as well. Okay. But, no, you cannot use Rocket Video Ranker to stream to scheduled live events, it doesn't work that way. Rocket Video Ranker is strictly an upload application, I mean it makes it so much faster and efficient to upload a bunch of videos all at one time to the same channel. But, there's a limit to that, by the way, too. I ran into a couple of issues throughout the case study where I made a mistake with a batch of 30 uploads and I had to go in and delete them all, and then I went back and uploaded, again, to the same channel, and it denied me, it said, you've uploaded too many videos, and you must wait 24 hours before uploading anymore, or something like that, so just keep that in mind. Again, it's a different animal. They can accomplish similar things, but remember Live Rank Sniper was specifically a keyword poking tool, I mean that's what it was advertised as. Right? It's a keyword poking tool. Yes, you can steam to pre-scheduled events, but it's not really designed to do that, efficiently, in other words. Okay?
All right. Next, he says, “Also, I made a spintax with keywords and geotargeting for the LRS pokes, some of them landed on page one and two, and in the videos page, this was done without the long lat settings in Live Rank Sniper, if I needed to do long lat in LRS, would this require one poke per keyword?” Yes. Well, it would be one poke per location, Kurt. I did this same thing Kurt, in other words, when I was running my, I was basically targeting one keyword in multiple locations, so I didn't use the geo coordinate setting, either. I left that blank, but if you want to target multiple keywords in one location, then you could use the geo, you know, the geo settings, excuse me, because then it's all the same location, but I did the same thing, which you're asking about, here, no, I just omitted that. Okay. “Or, could I just use the long lat for Chicago and geo target all the smaller communities and metros in Chicago with the keywords spintex with the same result and effectiveness?”
I don't know, Kurt, I haven't test that, personally, I would not want to use Chicago coordinates for suburbs around Chicago, because those suburbs each have their own coordinates. Right? Every point, anywhere at all geographically has its on coordinate. Right? So, even if you move a 100 yards to the right or the left, or north, south, east, west, it doesn't matter my point is it still got a unique coordinate, so if you're assigning a Chicago coordinate, excuse me, to all of the other locations that you're targeting, then you'd be giving mixed messages to Google. I haven't tested that, so I don't know whether it would work or not, but to be honest with you it seems logical to me that it would cause problems. So, I would recommend just omitting the geocoordinates from those campaigns, unless you're targeting one location.
Using Same Persona Rings To Multiple Products
All right. Alexander is up, “Should I use the same persona rings to multiple products? For example, the same 10% of the rings for two or more unrelated projects.” I don't recommend that. I mean, you can to a point, Alexander, I would still try to keep them somewhat related. Here's the thing guys, like for second tier networks, which are basically persona based networks, especially for like YouTube syndication's, stuff like that, things can be a bit more general, but remember theming is really, really important. I'll let Marco comment on this, but guys theming and relevancy is critical, now, and it's only becoming more and more critical, so I'd recommend not spamming up some second tier networks, or persona based networks with a whole bunch of unrelated stuff. Try to keep it somewhat ballpark, somewhat in the same ballpark, because you're going to get more power, and more authority built from any of those links, embeds, whatever, from those networks if they're themed correctly. Marco, you got a comment for that?
Marco: No. I agree. We go back to what I mentioned in the beginning, which is the three components of a link. Right?
Marco: Relevancy, activity on the link, trust and authority. If those three things are present then you have a great link, if you omit one of those then the link becomes not so great, what overcomes that is where the link is coming from, like if you can get that awesome boost from one of these super powerful websites where you get that link that just pops you to number one, then that'll override the relevancy activity, but it has to be powerful, it cannot just be any old link, or it could have decent metrics and you would have to boost it, so that you power up the metrics to override the relevancy factor, but you still need all the other three components. I mean, I could talk about this all day, but we're still going to come back to relevancy, activity, trust and authority, that's what you need on a link. If you don't have that, and most, again, most PBN's are just there to provide a link, if you are doing just that then you're better off going and renting. You know how you can go and rent from what used to be a PR7, or a PR8 you better off doing that, you can still do that and get a lot of bang for your money.
Multiple Google Sites For Different Personas
Bradley: Yeah. All right. Bacon is up, he says, “I have a question about Google sites, if you were to create multiple sites, do you need to do each under a different persona, since it is a Google property?” No. It's not necessary. You can do it all, I mean, you can create multiple Google sites under one profile. It's fine. Just keep in mind, that if you're doing some nasty stuff with them, with any one of them, or a combination of them, you stand a chance of getting that account slapped and potentially terminated, and if you have multiple Google sites in that one account, and that account gets slapped, or terminated, then it could end up, you end up losing all of them. Again, I always talk about mitigating risk, guys, specifically because I just don't want to have one where Google can come in and terminate one account, and I lose multiple digital assets, or multiple businesses, so to speak. Right?
That's why I always try to separate things by different Google profiles, because then I can always connect, and add as a manager, and you can do that in Google sites, too, you can add a manager. So, you can add, you can create, let's say you're going to create 10 Google sites, have 10 different profiles, each owning its own Google site, and then you can connect your main profile, you, or Bacon, as a manager to all of them, so that you can manage all of them underneath one account. But, if anyone of those accounts were to get terminated, it will only affect the one Google site that was owned by that profile account. If that makes sense.
Marco: Let me read through that, again. There's a lot of stuff that I just cannot give away in this forum. I cannot give that away. Yeah. Content matters, whether it's on the page, or somewhere else, makes a big difference. Relevance, right? You can push relevancy, because it will bleed through to the source, whatever you have on the page, the bot will come in read it, it will drop into the iframe, so to speak, it will drop into the hole, go down to see where the source is, and all of that, that the bot is holding, wherever it's holding the information, follows through, so it helps. It helps more if it's somewhere else. That's as far as I'm going to take it.
Bradley: Yeah. I mean, I haven't done a lot of map embedding stuff, so I don't have a lot of experience with testing, Ken, on that, but I would agree that I would probably be, because the problem with YouTube with importing the description, is what I discussed earlier. Right? Is that every single time, or every property that I have while I was importing the descriptions would get de-indexed. That's why I stopped doing it, but for maps that's different. Again, I would want to try to put some content on the page, and then test it, but I don't know, because I haven't done it. I'd just follow Marco's advice.
In other words, when I rent a mailbox, I don't just rent it, or excuse me, a PO box, I don't just rent it long enough to get the postcard, and then let it expire. I keep renewing them. I've got dozens of PO boxes and I pay for them every single year, and the reason I do that is because in the event that I ever have to reverify the business, I'll have access to that location, that address. The reason I know how to do that is because that's only happened twice to me in my entire career. Okay. But, one of the times that it happened it was a UPS mailbox for one of my tree service lead gen sites, and the UPS mailbox was like $36.00 a month, it was freaking ridiculous, and so I let that mailbox go, because I thought I'll never need it again, and it's too damn expensive. Sure enough, I got a reverification, I was required to reverify via mail, snail mail, and I didn't have access to that location, so I lost that maps listing, because I didn't have access to it.
So, that was a painful lesson for me, because that was a profitable, it generated quite a bit of revenue, that particular site, so anyways, my point is that ever since that time, first of all I stopped using UPS mailboxes, the UPS stores and stuff, I stopped using those and I went to PO boxes, and I keep them renewed. Now, with that said, you know, if you've been trying to tell a client something for two years, now, look, I understand, because you are kind of black hatting the maps listing. I've had clients that have been resistive to that, as well, so you know, I don't know what else you can do other than tell them why it would benefit them to do that, and try to get them to do it the correct way, otherwise I don't know what else you could do to tell them that. Short of you going out and getting the mailbox yourself, which I don't recommend doing, but if it's a client that's paying you a good amount of money, look, I pay anywhere between $64.00 and $128.00 per year, per PO box.
It just depends on the population density of the area that I'm renting the box in. Right? The more populated it is, the more expensive it's going to be, but I don't have a single mailbox out of dozens of them that cost me more than, I think, 128, actually, that may not be true, it might be as much as 164, or 168 a year, or something like that. It's still relatively inexpensive, so again I don't recommend going out and buying a mailbox for a client unless there's enough revenue in it for you, to make it worth your while. Here's the thing, you might end up, there's always the opportunity that you could use, you know, create other digital assets in that same area, and use that, you could try using that same mailbox, but I wouldn't do that.
I would have a separate mailbox specifically for this client, and again, if it's not something that you want to approach the client about, I wouldn't mind approaching the client, just say, look, you got a UPS mailbox, those don't work and here's the reason why, recommend using a USPS box, it's cheaper, and they're still working, right now, and it's going to benefit your business, and I recommend that you do it. That's what I would say, otherwise you could do it on your own. Again, I don't recommend doing that, Don, but if you're making enough revenue from that client, it's a nominal small price to pay to be able to get them results. Okay.
Differences Between FCS, RankerX, SEO Autopilot and Rankwyz
I cannot answer you Kay, honestly, because I just don't know. I don't use any of those tools. I can tell you that I'm super, super, super impressed with Rank Whizz, and Pavel from the webinar that we did on Monday. I think if you were going to invest, and again, this is only based upon, not from using any of the tools, myself, but just based upon what I know and from what I saw on Monday with Rank Whizz is it seems like it can do everything that I could ever want a link building tool to do, in a very unique way. In fact, the content mill function of Rank Whizz is amazing, because they don't scrape content based upon keywords, they do it based upon topics, which is the very first time I've ever heard of a link building tool do that, which speaks directly to RankBrain and Hummingbird. Right?
The semantic web algorithms, or the semantic web filters, or whatever, layers to the algorithm. My point is, that after going through that webinar, if you haven't seen it yet, Kay, go through it, that we did with Pavel. I think it was two hours long, but it's super, super powerful and if you're going to invest time and money, well, money is the small part, an investment is the time. Right? The biggest investment is the time to learn how to use these tools. I would pick one that does everything and learn that one tool. So, that you don't have to patch a bunch of stuff together and Rank Whizz apparently has all that. Guys, again, this is only based upon the webinar, because Pavel knows his stuff, he is a serious SEO. After hearing him talk for two hours, he really knows what he's talking about, so I think it's a very, very powerful tool and I would put my trust into that, but that's just my assumption. Okay. I don't have any proof behind that, because I don't use any of those tools, myself. All right.

Bradley: Go ahead.
Marco: If I may, and if she's a newbie, and she's going to go into this expense, the expense has to be justified, well, the investment, let's call it, because it's actually an investment on the business.
Bradley: Mm-hmm (affirmative).
Marco: So, you should have an SEO business if you're going to be running this type of tool, because this tool is for tier two and out, and if you get good enough into T-1 never at the money site. Unless, you're really surgical with the tool, you get so good with the tool that you can actually go at tier one, you know exactly what you're doing. Before you get to all that you should have a really good foundation with everything else. I don't know if she's doing Syndication Academy, if she wants to do it for clients, if she wants to do things affiliate, what it is that she wants to do, she says she's a newbie, which is really broad, what is she a newbie in? What is she trying to take on? What is she trying to do? Because if you go right for the link building tools, you have to have assets that you build links to.
Bradley: Yeah. Okay. Next is Stephen, and we're running out of time here, very quickly, I can see we're not going to be able to get to Roy's question, again, either, we tried this last week and I know we spent some time on it, but apparently we didn't have the whole scenario, and I know I passed over Steve. Diversifying When Building Google Properties/Stacks
Marco: Yeah. Not all Google files are created equal.
Marco: They each have different, like one will rank over the other, remember Doctor Gary did a test I think it was in the Mastermind, or in RYS Academy. It was one or the other, or both, probably, where he showed, which one ranks better than the other one, but we still like to do all of them, because we like to interlink. Having just one Google property linking to another, and those two linking to another, and everything linking back, creating the spider web silo, that powers up everything, and it shoots the relevancy out to the destination, which is what we like to do. So, the way we do it is we just keep, you know, we don't do one or one file type, we do them all.
Marco: We do as many as we can and we link them all together, and then send the power wherever we want.
Bradley: Which is more diversity. Right? I mean, it seems to me, I haven't tested it, but I mean, I just, we always do every doc type that's available to us, or every file type. Okay. Let's see. Best Structure For A Lead Gen Site
Columbia says, “Could you describe the best structure for a lead gen site and what would be careful to avoid? Do you do this under your name, or a persona? Thanks.” No. I always do everything under personas, Columbia, as I mentioned earlier in this webinar, and as I often do in many, many webinars, I try to mitigate my risk. So, I always set up a new persona for every lead gen site that set up. Then, I add myself as a manager, so I can add, for example, like I set up, for every lead gen site that I set up, guys, I set up a brand new Google account. I create a new persona, and then I create the website, and I add the Google My Business listing underneath that persona, the Google plus pages, I do all, Google Analytics, search console, tag manager, everything.
The only thing that I don't create a new account for every time is AdWords, but everything else I do. Then, what I do is I just add myself, or one of my agency profiles, like, I have an AdWords manager account that's underneath, it's basically an agency Google profile that I created specifically to run an AdWords manager account, so since I do most everything in AdWords for lead gen, now, I do some Maps SEO, but pretty much I do a ton of AdWords stuff now for lead gen, I just assign that agency profile as a manager to all my lead gen property sites, and search consoles, and analytics, and all of those, so that I can access everything from my agency profile. But, everything is owned by separate individual Google accounts.
The reason I do that, is because once again, I don't want, if at any time something happens and they decide that Google doesn't like my agency account anymore, and they shut it down, terminate it, I don't want to lose all those accounts. Right? It would suck to have my agency account shut down, but at least I would still have all my lead gen assets because they're all owned, you know, owned in air quotes, by other persona accounts. Okay. It's all about mitigating risk, guys. It's just about reducing risk to where if something bad were to happen you don't lose it all.

The exact question was:
Say I have a video I'm trying to rank on first page using other Google properties (Drive stacking as you call it), should the other drive files with links pointing to this video be created in the same Google account where the video is uploaded to? Or should these drive stacks be created in a “”non-associated”” gmail account? Thanks.
