What’s Included in the Basic GBP SEO Front-End Service We Offer

Most local businesses don’t need a full-blown website rebuild to start showing up in Google Maps. They need quick, controllable wins. That’s exactly what our basic GBP SEO front-end service delivers: profile optimization, weekly posting, a clean mirrored Google Site, and consistent citations. It’s a simple, repeatable package that gets results fast and sets the stage for bigger SEO campaigns when the business is ready.

Quick overview

Our basic GBP SEO front-end service focuses on improving the Google Business Profile without touching the client’s website. That is the whole point: we optimize the profile, create supporting content assets, and run a few ongoing tasks that lift visibility in local search. We also offer a few other front-end products that pair well with GBP work. Below we explain each step and how they work together.

What we include in the basic GBP front-end package

Here are the pieces we deliver as part of the basic GBP SEO front-end service:

  • GBP on-page optimization — a one-off setup where we optimize the Google Business Profile itself. We fill out fields, fix categories, improve business descriptions, add services and photos, and ensure the profile follows best practices.
  • Weekly Google Business Profile posts — a simple, repeatable content cadence that keeps the profile active and gives Google fresh information to surface.
  • Content mirroring with a Google Site — we build a mirrored site on sites.google.com that reflects the client's main website content but with better structure for local search. This becomes an asset we control, since we often do not touch the client’s website.
  • Power listings service — we use a third-party provider to push consistent business data around the web. We have used the Yext-like service through Semrush, but that provider raised prices and we are switching to an alternative.

Why we don’t touch the client’s website

Many clients either have a poorly built website or they do not want us to make changes to their site. In those cases, optimizing the Google Business Profile and creating a mirror on Google Sites gives us control over a clean, linkable asset. This lets us get results quickly without needing full site edits or a new website build.

Content mirroring: the Google Site approach

When we say “content mirroring,” we mean that we recreate the structure and core content of the client’s main website inside a Google Site. But we don’t copy every mistake. We tidy up the structure, fix headings and service pages, and make the content more search-friendly.

Why a Google Site? Because:

  • It’s owned by the client and linked to the GBP.
  • It’s fast to build and easy to edit.
  • It becomes a usable link building target if the client decides to scale into full SEO later.

We follow documented standard operating procedures (SOPs) for how to mirror a site. These SOPs make the process repeatable and consistent, so every client gets the same clean setup.

Weekly GBP posts

Posting to the Google Business Profile once per week is one of the simplest ongoing tasks we include. These posts:

  • Keep the listing active and engaged
  • Give Google fresh content to index
  • Provide opportunities to highlight offers, services, and seasonal work

We keep the posts short, clear, and focused on real customer value: recent projects, promotions, and reminders to leave reviews.

Power listings (and a note about pricing)

We currently use a syndicated listings provider to push consistent NAP (name, address, phone) data across directories. We previously used the Yext-like service through Semrush, but that provider more than doubled their price for the same service, jumping from about $20 a month to $50 a month. We don’t like sudden price hikes, so we are switching to a different provider for power listings. The goal remains the same: consistent citations and fewer data mismatches across the web.

The Google Site does more than improve the GBP right away. If a client decides to move up to a higher-level SEO campaign with us, the Google Site becomes a primary link target. Because we already cleaned and structured the content there, we can immediately use it in link building campaigns to boost the client’s local search presence.

So the process looks like this:

  1. Set up and optimize the GBP.
  2. Mirror the website into a Google Site and fix structure.
  3. Run weekly posts and maintain the GBP listing.
  4. If the client upgrades, use the Google Site as a link target for building authority.

Other front-end services we offer

Our front-end product lineup includes four main offers that work well together. In this order we typically present them to a client:

  • LLG sites (local lead generation websites) — These are local-focused websites built to capture leads. They are fast to deploy and optimized around local intent.
  • Google Business Basic SEO (the GBP front-end we describe here) — On-page GBP optimization, weekly posts, Google Site mirroring, and power listings.
  • Reactivation and review service (we call it “shaking the bushes”) — This is a list reactivation and review campaign. We contact past customers, re-engage them, and request reviews. We like that name because you “shake the bushes” and money can drop out — meaning you often find easy wins from old customers.
  • AI appointment assistant (Canopy Call) — An AI-driven call assistant that helps book appointments. For tree care contractors we brand this as Canopy Call, but the tech works across many local services.

These four offers are our main front-end tools. They are designed to work together in a low-friction way. A business can start with just one or combine several for faster growth.

How we deliver the GBP front-end step by step

Our delivery process is simple and repeatable. It looks like this:

  1. Audit the current GBP and site to identify gaps.
  2. Perform on-page GBP optimization and set up the correct categories, services, and photos.
  3. Create a Google Site mirror of the site and fix structure issues.
  4. Launch weekly GBP posts and schedule ongoing publishing.
  5. Set up power listings and ensure NAP consistency across directories.
  6. Document everything and hand over credentials or provide managed service as agreed.

We keep the work focused on immediate wins that don’t require making changes to the client’s main website. That speeds up results and reduces friction with clients who are protective of their site or have old, broken sites.

Why this works for local businesses

Local businesses need quick, reliable ways to show up in maps and local search. Many businesses already have weak websites or no website strategy. The GBP is often the single most important place to improve for local visibility.

By optimizing the GBP, adding fresh posts, and creating a Google Site we control, we can:

  • Improve visibility in Google Maps and local packs
  • Offer a clean destination for links and citations
  • Generate faster traction without the time and cost of a full site rebuild

How to decide which front-end service to start with

Pick based on the biggest gap for the business:

  • If they have no local website or a very weak site, start with an LLG site or Google Site mirror.
  • If their Google Business Profile is poor or incomplete, start with Google Business Basic SEO.
  • If they have lots of past customers but few recent leads, start with the reactivation and review service (“shaking the bushes”).
  • If they want to automate bookings and reduce missed calls, add the AI appointment assistant.

Often we combine two or more of these to get faster results. For example, a mirrored Google Site plus weekly GBP posts and the reactivation campaign is a strong starter pack for service businesses.

FAQ

Q: Do you change the client’s main website?

A: No. For the basic GBP front-end service we do not touch the client’s main website. We use the Google Site mirror as the asset we control. If a client wants full site SEO later, we can add that as a separate project.

Q: How long does it take to see results?

A: Some changes can show effects in a few weeks, like improved GBP visibility from better categories and photos. Other benefits, like ranking improvements from posts and listings, often take a few months. The Google Site gives us a fast asset to show progress quickly.

Q: What is “shaking the bushes”?

A: That is our name for the reactivation and review service. We contact past customers, re-engage them, and ask for reviews. We also update contact lists and try to generate repeat business from old clients.

Q: What happened with the listings provider price hike?

A: The provider we used via Semrush increased their price from about $20 to $50 per month for the same service. We don’t think that kind of jump is fair, so we are switching to a different supplier. The goal is still consistent, wide distribution of accurate business data.

Q: Will the Google Site hurt my main website’s SEO?

A: No. The Google Site is a separate asset that supports the GBP and acts as a linkable page for local campaigns. It does not replace your main site; it supplements local visibility, especially when the main site is weak or slow to change.

Q: Can we upgrade to full SEO later?

A: Yes. The GBP front-end work and the Google Site are designed so you can upgrade to a higher-level SEO program. The Google Site becomes an immediate link target and we can add on-page site SEO and link building when you are ready.

Wrapping up

Our basic GBP SEO front-end service is a lean, focused package that improves local visibility without requiring a website overhaul. We optimize the Google Business Profile, run weekly posts, set up a mirrored Google Site, and use a power listings service. These steps give fast wins and a clear path to more advanced SEO work later. If a client wants more, we can add reactivation campaigns, AI appointment tools, or full-site SEO to scale up the results.

If you want to see the exact services we sell or the flow we follow, you can view our product pages. For example, our GBP basic page and review service pages show the same offers and order we described here. When clients are ready, we move them from these front-end wins into a full local SEO plan built to last.
